Chapter 12: Happy Ending

One evening Aurum looked out of the window and wondered about what happened in these days. The environment was spectacular. It made her mind relaxed, which helped her in concentrating in her studies and day to day activities. She enjoyed every bit of it. After that, Aurum went to the balcony to water her plants. Then she saw Iseul in her garden. Iseul signaled her to come down. Aurum nodded. She went down stairs and went to Iseul's house.

"Aurum, shall we go to the botanical garden?" asked Iseul. "Okay, but is it nearby?" asked Aurum.

"It's quite far from the point 'nearby',"

"So, how do we go? You should have an idea about that,"

"How about by bus, or in my mom's car? Do you have any ideas?"

"Let's go by bicycle." suggested Aurum. "Ok." agreed Iseul.

"So, which route should we take?" she continued. "What are the routes that we can use?" asked Aurum smiling.

"Three are there. The third one takes a lot of time. But, if we go in the second one we could pass Toshiro's house; but it takes some time than the first route. What do you say Aurum, route 1 or 2?" asked Iseul.

"It's definitely the second route," replied Aurum joyfully.

"Ok then, Let's bring our bicycles and meet here."

"Yes, exactly in 5 minutes. Bye for now."

"Yep, bye for now."

The two girls got ready and took the bicycles out. They got on the bicycles and rode down the street. After half an hour they were at Toshiro's house. When they reached there, Aurum ringed Toshiro. "Can you come out?" she said. Then he came out. Aurum was sure that he was very inquisitive about what's happening outside. He came out. "Hey," he said. "Hi, what were you doing?" asked Aurum. "Nothing. Where are you going?" asked Toshiro. "To the botanical garden near your house." said Iseul. "Wait for me, I'll come too." begged Toshiro.

"You know, we two thought of going on a 'girls only' trip." said Iseul. "What? Why?" questioned Toshiro. Then he called Katashi. "Hey! Can you come here for a bit?" called Toshiro. "Just like I expected." murmured Iseul to Aurum. "Yes, this will make them closer," agreed Aurum. Katashi came out. "What is it?" he asked.

"Shall we go to the Botanical garden?" asked Toshiro from Katashi. "You go if you want. I have other work to do," said Katashi and went back in. Toshiro was displeased. That scene was like a part in a comedy movie. Toshiro looked at the girls in an upset mood. "Don't be upset. We'll go with you on another time." Aurum said as she comforted Toshiro. The girls waved 'bye' and left.

Few minutes after, Katashi came out with his bicycle. "Where are you going?" asked Toshiro. "Didn't you just say that you want to go to the botanical garden?" asked Katashi. Toshiro was really happy. "I'm glad I have a brother like you." said Toshiro. "Cousin!" reminded Katashi. "Whatever, just wait for me until I bring my bicycle." said Toshiro. "Okay," assured Katashi.

Then the two boys rode off to the botanical garden. They entered it and started finding for the girls.

"Look there they are," said Katashi as he spotted the girls sitting on a bench.

"What are they doing?" asked Toshiro.

"It seems like they are blowing something. Isn't it?"

"Yeah they are. They are blowing of some Dandelions." said Toshiro laughing.

Then Aurum turned that side. Toshiro waved back. Aurum looked amazed as well as happy. She showed Iseul too. Iseul stared for a moment and signaled them to come over. They went to see many more flowers too. Then they held a bicycle riding competition. Aurum won from it. Toshiro was second. Usually he's the last, so everyone was amazed. Anyways everyone enjoyed it.

Six months passed. It's the end of the season of autumn. There were four very famous best friends in Stanford high. Those famous friends are Aurum, Toshiro, Iseul and Katashi.

Aurum developed her aesthetic skills and even participated and won from island-wide competitions.

Iseul made a big collection of documentaries. She also would write documentaries for channels too.

Toshiro would play Football. He is a well- recognized player in the school football team. He even won awards for the best player in competitions he participated. Aurum and Iseul went to watch every match that Toshiro played in. It is said that he is more likely to become the next captain of the school team.

And finally Katashi, he continued studying Biology for the next 2 years. His ambition was to be a biologist. He continued to work hard. Also his friends were proud of him as he had good grades too. Sometimes he would even join the girls in watching Toshiro's matches. Then all three would cheer. Toshiro would be more encouraged by his best friends' cheering.

After few days was passed. Aurum got a message from Toshiro. It said "Can we meet today evening?" So, Aurum sent a reply.

"Sure, but where?"

"How about somewhere open and peaceful?"

"You mean like the park?"

"That's good."

So, Aurum and Toshiro met at the park. "So, why did you want to meet suddenly?"

"Aurum, you wanted to know how my parents died, right?"

"Yep, but-"

"I'm fine with it."

"Ok, then."

"They died by sacrificing themselves for the future generations." said Toshiro looking down. "One day, when Katashi and I were playing we transformed. Then some people saw this and tried to attack us. That's when they were killed. We were about 9 years old when that happened." He continued.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know it was that painful."

"It's fine," said Toshiro. "But, suddenly why did you think of tell me?" asked Aurum. "Katashi said that it would be better to tell you, so I did it." Toshiro said. Aurum comforted him. Then suddenly they heard a familiar voice. "You do listen to me after all," he said. It was Katashi. He was followed by Iseul. She waved.

"How about we go for a walk? The weather is so nice." asked Iseul.

"It would be great," replied Aurum. Katashi and Toshiro agreed too. So, they went. On the way, they went through a path which had plum blossoms grown either side of the path. The petals were falling continuously. It made Toshiro cheer up. The four looked at each other. They smiled. After some time they came to their destination. What Iseul said was true. Just looking at that scenery would draw a smile across your face. While everyone was lost in thought suddenly, "What are these flowers?" asked Katashi. Iseul looked at him a bit annoyed. "What?" he asked. "These are Rapeseed flowers," answered Aurum.

"Come on, let's go in. Why should we just be watching?" said Toshiro. Everyone agreed. They walked in the path which went through the flower field. Just being there would make you see and understand the artistic thoughts of nature. It was like being in a painting.

Meanwhile while walking; thoughts came flooding to Aurum's mind. 

'What a moment, all of these look like a painting. How marvelous. Such unmatched beauty can be only created by nature.'
