spring afternoon

The subway ride was boring and mostly composed of discussions about the horse race, worry expressed from the people who didn't attended as they listened to the tales of the other ones

Bashira took a specific interest into the topic of the race, and she spent a good amount of time listening to the group of people behind her talking about it

She was listening carefully as one woman talked about her favorite horse when she saw a familiar face entering the subway; The group continued to discuss while Bashira followed the man with her eyes

The subway stopped at the first station and the group of people that was behind Bashira started leaving the bus, suddenly, Bashira felt a presence behind her so she turned around to look who was it

“Hello" said the man from earlier while smiling, “Hi" Bashira whispered while giving him a small smile; The man took out his suitcase and opened it making Bashira turn around in a matter of seconds, “Do you still want to play" he asked while taking the blue and red card out of his suitcase and standing up, Bashira haven't noticed that the subway was empty by now, the only persons in there where the man and her, “Sure why not" she said while standing up

The man explained the rules of the game and they started playing; Bashira was a stubborn person, so after winning 0 rounds and 6 slaps she still wanted to play, “One more" the girl with her now bruised face said, the man wasn't going to lie, he felt a little of pity for her, she looked terrible but still she seemed pretty decided so he thought that giving her one more opportunity wouldn't be that bad, “YES I WON" Bashira yelled while jumping a little, “Did you saw that I beat you" she said while receiving the money, the man's smile grew a little, after many slaps and just being successful in one round she looked pretty happy, “You look proud" the man said, “I am, I never got friends to play with so wining money for playing a new game to me is pretty exciting" she said while smiling and putting the money on the bags of her hoodie; The subway was arriving to Bashira's station so the man took a card like the one she saw earlier and gave it to her, “Well if you would like to win more money for playing games like this one you just need to call" and with that the subway arrived to the station and the man was gone again

Bashira was walking to the park that was near her house, there is a restaurant around the park that she loves, the restaurant isn't a fancy one neither the biggest one, instead, it was a small local and the person who cooked there was an old lady called Hayoon, Hayoon was like a grandmother to Bashira; When Bashira was little and her “family" went on vacation for nearly two weeks Bashira stayed at Hayoon's house, Bashira's “parents" never asked her for any help but Hayoon always got a soft spot for her, Hayoon's kids were grown up now and they only visited her two times a year so she likes to say that she is Bashira's grandmother and she treats her just as if she was her own child

“Grandma I'm here" Bashira yelled while entering the local, the local felt like home to her it was sunny and fresh, and they also got a cat called Moon the cat is actually from Bashira she found her on the street and took it to Hayoon since her “parents" won't let her have it at “home", “Oh hello Moon" Bashira said while taking the grey cat on her arms and stroking her fur

She went upstairs and found Hayoon in the kitchen, she left Moon on the floor and went to say hello, “Hello grandma" Bashira said while sitting on the counter, “Hello shira" Hayoon said still not looking at her, “What are you cooking today" Bashira said while jumping back to the floor, “Im making kimchi, you wanna try" she said while turning around, “Oh my goodness shira what happened to your face" Hayoon said while turning off the stove and walking towards her, “Oh this" Bashira said while pointing to her bruised cheek, “Well this is just um, a little bruise no need to worry about this I'm fine really" she said while trying some kimchi, “I made some money for you by the way", “Did you got into a fight for this money" Hayoon said looking as if she just saw Donald Trump in a bikini or something, “What no of course not how could you think that about me, do you really think I'm that aggressive" she said while widening her eyes a little, “No of course I don't I'm just wondering" Hayoon said while giving Bashira a pack of ice for her cheek, “Anyway do you need anything from the market" Bashira asked, “Actually I do, would you mind going for me please", “You know I don't" Bashira said while giving her the ice pack back and saying goodbye to her

Bashira took her bike and started riding to the market, the golden sun was shining, the warm rays giving life to everything, the air was fresh as always, and spring had just started, the flowers were blooming, the birds singing and the waterfall being music to her ears; She felt peace, she was happy and she felt at home but still she knew that it wasn't going to last much because she needed to return back “home" by dinner time
