Nico stood on the train tracks, he could hear- no, he could feel the train coming. It was finally happening. The day he was waiting for. Just a little longer.
"Nico!" A voice called behind him. Why him? Out all the people who could've come. Why him? "Nico, turn around and look at me."
"Why?" Nico asked, still staring blankly at the tracks. "What are you gonna do?"
"I-" Will stopped to make himself not sound angry. It didn't work, "I'm going to stop you."
Nico scoffed quietly. "Are you?" He looked back at Will, a cocky smile plastered on his face, but eyes that were clouded and blank.
Will would have believed that smile was real, but his dead eyes told him otherwise. "Nico, why do you want to waste your life on this-"
"Oh shut up!" Nico snapped, his cocky smile turned into a maniacal one. "As if you know anything! You have no idea how long I've wanted this- waited for this!"
The train was getting louder.
"Nico, I can't watch you die!" Will snapped back.
Then there it was. In Will's eyes, it was the fiend, the one to only take. In Nico's eyes; however, it was the saint. The one to relieve and give.
Nico smiled softly, not maniacal, nor cocky. Just... smiling. He glanced back at Will.
"Then look the other way."
