Chapter One

Warmth hits my body the steam coming off my skin as my pores open feeling fresh and clean is the best feeling in the world, I could stay in the shower forever, away from the world and reality, unfortunately I get pulled out of my fantasy by the knocking on the bathroom door,

"Bella! hurry up you're going to be late!" how wonderful back to reality "Coming" I turn off the beautiful hot water off grabbing my towel wrapping around my body, I walk into my closet looking for an appropriate entire to wear for my job interview.

I've been looking for a job for the last six months and no luck until Daenerys my best friend applied for a secretary job in the main heart of New York, De Reyes Enterprises I have been studying about the company for the last two weeks ready for any questions to be thrown at me as I need this job!

Daenerys comes from a wealth family rent, food and bills was never an issue for us, but I felt bad for using her money even though she forces me to spend the living shit out of her bank account, I knew I couldn't stay in this apartment for the rest of my life, I had to go and make a name for myself, I am grateful to have Daenerys as my best friend, I have known her since we were babies, both of our parents are...were best friends.

Daenerys family took me under their wing taking care of me as their own daughter, Daenerys and I decided to pack up our bags and start a new life in New York, it was my sister Tiana and I's dream to move to the city to start out career as lawyers, but she took her own life, but I was not going to give up on our dreams as I will make it for the both of us.

However being in New York hasn't been easy, I was rejected from Harvard University, Columbia University and Yale, I got accepted to NYU but the intuition fees made it impossible to attend, I was hoping to find a stable job to help me at least save some money for University, but I haven't succeeded in finding one, Daenerys parents offered to pay until I got back on my feet, I declined as I was already in debt and I didn't want to become the selfish friend.

I decided to pick a long black pencil skirt with a white blouse I paired them with black heels, I decided to put my hair in a low bun applying some light make up then I was out of my bedroom, I walk down the stairs to find Daenerys sipping her morning coffee I take the cup out of her hands drinking every drop of the coffee,

"You are lucky that I love you, now remember you meeting with Mr De Reyes, the appointment is in 20 minutes, and it take 15 minutes to get, I already asked Stefan to drive you there, so you have plenty of time to prepare yourself"

"Thank you, you didn't have to bother Stefan, when is he ever going to get a break"

"Shut up, now go before I kick your sexy ass out the window" she kisses me cheek as she walks to the door to open it for me, "Thank you... see you soon" I yell from across the hall, as I have reached the ground floor, I see the old man himself,

"Stefan always a pleasure"

"Good morning Miss Carter" Daenerys and her family are the only ones know that I have changed my name as I do not want my past to follow me, if I face the devil himself again I know it is the end,

As I sit in the back seat the car comes to a stop as loud honks come from outside, I open the sunroof to see what the chaos was, I see three taxis crashed into each other blocking every road, great just great, I have 10 minutes to get to the interview knowing the traffic is not gonna go away I must walk by foot, lucky is a 5-minute walk,

"Stefan I'm going to walk there I cannot be late"

"As you wish Miss, I will be there to pick you up when you are done"

I nod as I exit out of the car, I start to walk down the street a few moments later I have arrived at the very tall building with the sign De Reyes Enterprises, wow this is big, I walk inside to find two receptionists at the front desk,

"Hi, I'm here for me 12pm interview with Mr De Reyes"

Both ladies look at each other chewing their gums loud smacking their lips, God that's so annoying, they turn to face me as the one of the lefts finally speaks, "Sorry Miss Carter but you are late and Mr De Reyes doesn't take that lightly" finishing her last statement with a stupid smirk on her plastic face,

"Excuse me I'm actual 3 minutes early, now if you would please point to the direction of Mr De Reyes office"

Before they can both speak a tall figure appears with the scent of woody but sweet, I look up to find ocean blue eyes staring into my soul, I take the time to admire his face, sharp jaw, cheeks so defined with the most beautiful brown curls,

"Miss Carter, I presume?"

"Yes! You must be Mr De Reyes?" he walks around me in circles as I was his prey, he stops in front of me "Miss Carter I'm afraid this interview cannot process as I have an important engagement to attend too", excuse me I came on time, he could at least call to change or cancel instead of me walking in high heels my feet are killing me,

"Mr De Reyes, just here me out... have a look on resume you can see I have great reference, I'm a fast learner... I will be the best secretary you will ever have"

He takes my resume out of my hands he hands it to one of the receptionists "You start Monday 7am sharp... Laura can you please hand her the folder and show her around as I must leave" Oh my God I got the job, Oh My God! I have to text Daenerys oh wait, "Thank you Mr De Reyes" he continues to walk out of the building,

"Miss Carter? Here is his folder" Oh god that's massive looks like I have more studying to do "now follow me as I'll show you to your office and around the building" we head up to the 20th floor entering a room with floor to ceiling windows, looking above Central Park its stunning! There are white bookshelves behind a clear gold desk, wow this is the office of my dreams,

"This is your office, just next door is Mr De Reyes office, this door connects both of your offices so it easy access when needed, down the hall you will find the bathroom and a private kitchen for you and Mr De Reyes, that's where you will make his coffee and find his meal preps it's all in the file... now this" she holds out a Lexus car key "this will be your car keys to your car which you will find in the garage just click the button and you will find it" what kind of job is this? "Now I will leave you get settled in... see you Monday newbie"

I was left in the...my office alone now, taking inhow stunning it is, AND NOW I HAVE A CAR! This is not what I expected, I takethe folder and start to head down to the garage I look around to find the whiteLexus IS f-sport... this is my dream car! Oh my God maybe this job is what Ineeded to start fresh, I get into the car smells brand new car smell, turningon the car I start to drive out heading to my apartment, I can't wait to tellDaenerys!
