Jughead POV:
"Omg, Betty!" A familiar voice said. She began to run up. It was Veronica. I put my hand out in a stopping motion. For her to slow down. Betty must've been so overwhelmed. She stopped and began to walk slowly.
"Sorry." She mouthed. She then knelt down in front of Betty.
"Hi, Betty." She whispered softly.
"Hi." She mouthed looking down. I signaled for Veronica to talk to me in private.
"Jug, is she okay?"
"No, Veronica. I know it's hard to hear. But, she needs to go into recovery. She's so out of it."
"Oh. Is she going to get to meet Julie?"
"Eventually."
"I-I really thought she was just gone."
"Well, she's not." We both smiled.
"Go see Archie. Take him home."
"Wait. So explain what happened again?"
"Long story short, we had to fight a battle to the death against the black hood."
"Oh.. did they catch him?"
"Uh-huh. Taking him to a high security prison in Connecticut."
"Life sentence?"
"I think so."
"Good. I'm gonna go find Archie."
"Okay." She then walked off to take Archie home.
"Let me just grab my stuff." Archie said to Veronica.
"Alright." He waved goodbye to Betty. I wrapped my arm around Betty. She winced.
"Hey." I knelt down and whispered to her.
"It's gonna be okay. He's gone, betts." I smiled.
"We did it. He's gone." She began to break down in a a faint smile and reached her arms out for a hug.
"Hope."
"Oh, my god. Hope." She looked at me holding my face and sniffling.
"Is she-" Betty nodded.
"Oh, my god."
"Betty, what happened?" She looked around and began to whisper to me.
"Donna was protecting her."
"What do you mean?"
"I knew if I put her in the hands of a woman she couldn't possibly do anything terrible. Only a man could do something so inhumane. She was there when Hope was born. I told her I wanted you to meet her but wait for the perfect time."
"Oh, my god. Well, is she gonna give us our kid back?"
"Sure hope so."
"The name?"
"I picked it. It was when I was in captivity. Hope to get out without being dead."
"Jug, how's my other little girl."
"She's just beautiful Betty."
"Does she look like Hope?"
"A little. Hope looks like me."
"Oh okay."
"Ready to load up?" The EMT said.
"Yes." We got in the ambulance and drove to the hospital. I called Alice and she was beyond happy. She was screaming and crying. She got Toni to watch Julie while she came to see Betty.
"Elizabeth!" Alice yelled across the hospital. Betty's eyes widened in shock. After they cried and caught up, we all talked for a while.
"Mom, we have some news for you."
"Hm?"
"We have another kid."
"You mean your going to have another kid? Congrats!"
"No, we already have one."
"What do you mean?"
"We mean she's in New York as we speak."
"Oh. Oh wow."
"It's a long story. But thank you for taking care of Julie through it all."
"Julie? You went with the nickname?"
"I did. It suits her more." I smiled.
"I think I want to wait for an opening at a facility so when I meet her I don't seem off to her."
"That's a good idea." Alice and I then had to step out so they could get Betty all clean and everything. Alice went to go pick up Julie and we met up at the park. I filled with joy as soon as I saw Julie.
"Hi, baby!" I crouched down so she could rush into my arms. She smiled and ran faster towards me. I hugged her as tight as I could and stayed there for a good minute or two.
"Where did you go daddy?" She said as I picked her up. Alice sat down in the bench staring at the two us as she opened her book and smiled at us.
"Daddy!" Julie yelled again.
"Oh. Just boring work stuff."
"Oh. Can we play?"
"Sure, baby." She then took out coloring books and toys from her backpack.
"Daddy, why are your shoes muddy?" Julie said acting silly as always.
"Oh, it was for work." I laughed and patted her on the head. She smiled.
"Baby, have I ever mentioned how much I love you?"
"Yes. Everyday." She laughed. I kissed her on the head.
"Good. I'm glad your aware."
"Hey, baby?"
"Yeah?"
"What do you think about having a sleepover for a whole week with Tommy?"
"That sounds like fun!"
"Oh, yeah?"
"Yeah!" She was so excited which was good. Now, I just had to make sure she was actually aloud to do that. See, Veronica always gets mad when I dump Julie at her place last minute. But this time, I have a much better idea. Betty needs to go into a care center for a few months which was almost ready. Then, I called up Hermosa. For one last favor.
"Hey, Hermosa, it's Jughead again."
"Oh God. I heard. Are you all okay?"
"Yes we are. I need your help though."
"Okay. What is it?"
"I need Donna's number. I need my child back."
"Okay I'll email it."
"Great."
"Jughead, do yourself a favor and hold off until Betty is a little better."
"But, I want Hope to be here when she gets out."
"Whatever. It's your kid." She hung up and I later got the email.
The entire week went by in a whirlwind. Betty was sent to the recovery center a few towns over. I would come to see her every few days and call everyday. Some days I would bring Julie, too. I didn't call until about a month later. I called and the line was disconnected. That's when I knew, something wasn't right."
