Jughead POV: the next few months went by fast. Betty was in the center for nearly 5 and a half months. They said there was no reason to keep her, she was doing really well in recovery and didn't have too many episodes as they thought. Her nightmares weren't too bad, considering. It was the day we came to pick her up. We gathered up what had seemed like the whole town and piled them into the house for a welcome home party. She had been visited by a lot of them so I thought it was okay. Pop was going to bring burgers since that's all she's wanted for 5 years. I drove up, by myself.
"I'm here to pick up Elizabeth Cooper."
"Oh, yes. She's just packing up. She'll be right out."
"Great." She walked out with her bag and ran to the sight of me. She jumped into my arms. It was the first time we had truly hugged in nearly five years. When we got back home, I turned the lights on and everyone jumped out and said 'surprise!' She smiled at everyone almost unaware of how to react.
"Mommy!" Both the girls screamed and ran to her. I was so happy. We were finally a family again. After everyone had greeted, later everyone left except for Archie's family and Alice.
"They want you down at the station. I told them we could do it an-"
"No, Jug. I just want to get it over with, and put this behind me. Let's go." She grabbed my hand and we walked out the door. We arrived at the police station, and we answered all of the questions. Here is the true story of what had happened: Betty had been receiving threatening letters and calls from her father, the black hood. He said he wanted to meet his grandchild, but she refused. Instead, she sacrificed her life to save Julie's. That's why she became so cold and cynical. Then, that night, she was sitting at home. When Chic called to distract her. He didn't say anything. She only heard breathing which worried her, so she opened the door to check outside. She opened the door and was clubbed on the back of the head. She fell, on the concrete until she was picked up by Penelope and had a sack out over her head. She was too weak to fight it. Chic loaded her into the back of a truck, and they ended up getting her wound stitched. He took her to the bunker, where I should have looked in the first place. He would abuse her, and drug her underground. He later figured out she was pregnant, and was thrilled to have a grandchild. He hired Donna to help take care of the child once it was born. He meant put it up for adoption or something of the sort, but she kept it. For me, and for Betty. Betty told her to name it 'Hope' in hope that she would escape this horrible place. Years later, he sent me the ring. He tried to lure me to his trap, by hiring Penny to kill me, to get me out of the picture. Which obviously, didn't work. Chic told me about the bunker, where I then shot the black hood, found Betty on the other side of the river. She told me that she was forced to dress that way. She assumed he knew I was coming so he wanted to finally murder her, and he wanted her to not look like she had been a hostage. We found her, and that's the end of the story. Reporters were coming about like crazy, we were offered to do a documentary. Which we would commit to in a year. Meanwhile, during that year, I went back to work, wrote an entire new book, Betty got pregnant again, Betty stayed at home with the kids, and life just became normal again.
9 months later:
Betty and I sat in the hospital bed together holding our precious new baby.
"Jug, she's perfect."
"Only because she looks just like you." We kissed.
"Willow Kaitlyn Cooper-Jones." I was so in love with my little family.
"Maybe next time it'll be a boy."
"There's a next time?" She said and we both laughed. Everything seemed so perfect. Archie and Veronica had there baby who was a boy, his name was Conrad Logan Andrews. I couldn't believe the way time flew by, Betty and I renewed our vows. We did the documentary, which made lots of people read the book that Betty and I had published together. She finally got her teaching credential, and got her dream job and Riverdale elementary. About two years later, we had a baby boy, Declan Connor Cooper-Jones. And two years after that, we had our last and final baby, Julia Taylor Cooper-Jones. We couldn't be happier. Our little family was just where it needed to be.
I am so happy to finally finish this book. I worked on this for over a year, lots of ups and downs, but we did it! I am so happy with the ending of this book and thank you to everyone who read it all! When I make the second book, I will keep you guys updated! For now, read my current fanfic, choices. Thanks again!
