CHAPTER 1

RIDING this airplane and going to an unfamiliar place maybe a bad decision?

I asked myself. Nope. Nandito na tayo.

We are doing this, Rana.

I took a leave of absence for a couple of weeks after suffering depression.

"Rana, diba si Kael yun?"

"Saan?"

"Ayun oh. Sino yang kasama niya?"

Bigla naman lumamig ang buong katawan ko.

Fuck. He's with the girl he told me not to worry about.

I should have known.

Pinagmasdan ko lang sila habang kumakain ng velvet cake sa labas ng isang coffee shop.

I didn't wanna make a scene--

"KAEL!!!"

Sigaw ng kaibigan ko na si Rachel.

Lintik lang. Ba't niya tinawag.

"Kael!"

"Kael!"

"KAEEEEEEELLLL!"

Lumingon naman ito sa direksyon namin.

I don't know why I can't even move.

Nagulat siya ng makita niya ako.

He stood up.

Trying to come to me but my feet decided to walk away.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, please fasten your seatbelt..."

I got distracted from my own thoughts.

"Welcome to Pasay City, Metro Manila. We are about to land in Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2."

So this is Manila. Charot.

First time ko dito.

Actually first time ko rin sumakay ng eroplano.

I decided to take a break for awhile.

Para hanapin ang sarili ko.

"Please, Rana. Maniwala ka sa akin!"

Kael kept on knocking on my door.

"There is nothing between us. It was simple lunch meeting."

Natawa ako sa isipan ko.

Magsisinungaling na nga yung obvious pa.

Mas lalo ko naman sinubsob ang ulo ko sa unan.

Napatingin naman ako sa singsing na ibinigay niya.

He proposed to me 2 months ago.

I don't even know if sincere siya.

After awhile, tumahimik na. I decided to go out from my room to see if nandyan pa siya.

"Rana please..."

He stood up in front of me.

"Believe me."

"I can't..."

"I don't know how..."

Umiyak na naman ako.
