[part 5] i watch you sleep

NOTE: cursing, and a box cutter! Also, I'm sorry this one is a bit late, I hope you enjoy :)

Your pov, the next day :

I'm gonna be early to work today! I thought 5 alarms was a bit much, but it ended up working. I have enough time to walk at a normal speed instead of sprinting.

*you make some toast and eat it on the way to work*

y/n: "hey tk!"

Tk: "hey y/n.. Wow, you're pretty early today. What's the special occasion?" he giggles

y/n: "well, i'm trying to keep my job yk?"

Tk: "yeah i understand. Anyways, since you're here early, come help me get the chairs down from the tables"

y/n: "mkay"

*you and tk get down the chairs and prepare the restaurant for its opening. Once you're done you realize there isn't much left to do, but wait for the cooks.*

I forgot someone sent me something last night. Could it be yb? Maybe he forgot something in my apartment

The message read: hey y/n! It's me yb. I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out later after your work shift. You can pick what we do and where we go :)

Should I even be talking to him? I just met him and don't know much about him but something makes me want to keep talking to him. Well, what he did yesterday was very kind of him, and he does seem like a respectful person. Besides, this would be good for me. I need to meet more people outside of work. Yeah! Maybe we can become close friends.

You respond: hey yb, i fell asleep and didn't read your message, but i'd love to. How about lat-

Boss: "y/n! What the fuck are you doing?!"

*Despite having many bosses before, not one has ever yelled at you like that. This embarrassed and scared you*

y/n: "nothing si-"

Boss: "I can see you doing nothing! This is what you do when you come in early? You sit and do nothing but look at your stupid phone?! There are things that need to be done in the kitchen!!"

y/n: "im sorry sir but im a waitress.. It's not my job to be in the kitchen"

Boss: "..how dare you talk back to me? Im your fucking boss and you need to do as i fucking say!"

*he waves his nasty finger at you as he says this, and eventually pushes you with one hand. This causes you to fall back*

Tk: "sir, stop! y/n is right, we have to wait for the cooks to come! It wouldn't be safe for us, the customers or the cooks."

*people start gathering outside to watch us scream at each other, when  suddenly the boss reaches into his pockets and pulls out a box cutter to threaten us with. Some people start running, others stare, laugh, record, but one of the guys comes in and grabs the boss by the wrist *

Yb: "I don't recommend that. There is a group of people outside who are recording you right now, and if anything were to happen we can all sue or shut down your restaurant."

*the boss turns around and punches yb with his free hand. Yb looks at him and smirks. The boss tries to run away, but yb launched at him, grabbing him by the shirt collar, lifting him off the floor, and slamming him onto his back. *

Yb: "sorry, i think i overdid it."

y/n: "no, it's fine.. I don't think I can come back from that anyways. He's definitely gonna fire me once he wakes up. Or maybe even worse."

Tk: "Wait who are you?"

y/n: "this is my friend yb. I'll introduce you both some other day."

*in a rush you tell yb and tk to follow you to the back. You then grab a big bag and stuff the most expensive meat from the freezer in*

Yb: "what's this for?"

y/n: "well it's gonna take a while for me to find a new job.. but me and lucy still need to eat yk?"

Tk: " that's so smart of you y/n.  I would've just gone with the money."

Yb: "still. I'm sorry for overstepping, i just couldn't handle seeing you get yelled at"

y/n: "..You were here when he was yelling at us?"

Yb: "yeah.. i was outside for most of it"

y/n: "wait why?.. yk what let's just go before he wakes up."

*you all get out through the back, leaving the crowd with the unconscious boss. Once you get to the bus stop, you and yb wave goodbye to tk and head to your apartment.*

y/n: "um. How did you know where I work? More importantly, what were you doing there?"

Yb: "Before I tell you, I just want you to keep an open mind, and not get upset with me."

y/n: "sure.."

He's looking at me in such an intense way. Does he have something to hide? I mean it can't be that bad.

Yb: "well. The first time I saw you, was when I was walking by where you work- ermm use to work. I immediately viewed you as the most beautiful and fascinating person in the world! You made me feel something I've never felt before! Anyways, I started walking by every day, hoping to build up the courage to talk to you, but it just wasn't enough anymore, so I followed you home and sat outside your window to watch you in a more.. intimate setting. That's also why I was here to help you last night. I had noticed you weren't home so I started looking around for you."

Is he trying to make a joke? He's staring at me waiting for a response. Part of me feels relieved, even a little flattered that someone would take the time to look after me.. or at me, but another part is horrified that if I do or say something wrong he'll hurt me.

*yb interrupts you mid thought*

Yb: "But I have to ask.. Did you already know about me?"

y/n: "what do you mean? Yesterday was the first time i met you"

Yb: "Well, yesterday in the staircase I saw you drawing someone who looked like me."

y/n: "oh shitt. That's how I know you!  Basically, some nights I get sleep paralysis, and on one of those nights I saw someone creeping outside my window. When I woke up I thought it was a demon, or just my imagination, but now I know it was you."

Yb: "oh okay.. well what do you think about what i just said? Are you okay with me?"

y/n: "well no, i think its fucking creepy that you would do something like that, on top of that, tell me so casually.. but you have never tried to kill me, or touch me in an inappropriate way..so I guess that's okay?"

Yb: " y/n,  i would never hurt you! I just want to keep you safe no matter what. I'm in love with you y/n. I'll always love you"

What the fuck is happening right now? I just met this dude last night and he just told me about how he watches me sleep, and now, he's confessing his eternal love for me? Am I tripping right now?

Yb: "Look, i know it's all sudden but i had to tell you."

y/n: "well i do like you too, but i just met you. I don't feel exactly what you feel."

Yb: "I'll wait as long as it takes for you to love me back y/n."

y/n: " um.. Okay, but you need to stop doing all of that creepy shit. If you don't I'll call the police and tell them everything."

Yb: "I will if you want me to.. I mean i get to talk to you in person now so that's a step up" he smiles

Im so stupid for letting him in my apartment. Is he actually in love? Or does he just want to hurt me? Either way, why am I starting to like him even more?? This isn't normal.
