Sid (raising his eyebrows while smirking): What?
(Avi bit her tongue)
Avi: I...I...I...mean I like to hear your music since I was 15. (In mind: I hope I covered it up)
Sid: Nice try, but I know what you meant.
(Avi was a tomato by now. Sid chuckles)Sid: But I miss that time being in my room and singing whenever I want to. It felt safe.
Avi: You became successful these years, then why you miss those days when you were struggling?
Sid: I miss my family and those beautiful old memories.
Avi: If you don't want you don't have to tell me, but as you know I am a good listener.Sid: I know. But it's longer than the others.
So, this starts from the day I started going to highschool. My parents were very happy that time. My dad is one of the most successful business man in our city, while my mom is a doctor. They had big plans for me with lot of expectations, but to me music was everything, it meant the world to me. My parents appreciated my love towards music but they never thought it would turn into something more than just a hobby. My dad wanted me to go to college for business studies while my mom wanted me for medical science. And as you already know, around the same time I started uploading videos of my own written songs on YouTube. And it took only two months for me to reach a million subscribers. At the same time, my mom decided to get divorce but my dad wasn't ready for it, but eventually they got divorced.
I stayed with my dad while my mom moved to another state. I wanted to talk to my dad for my music career but he never had time for me. But one day somehow I told him, and as expected, he told me to do whatever I want to but he won't support me.
Same time, my mom got married to her highschool boyfriend, and that news made things difficult for my dad. The only friends I had were Faisu and Ri, they were the only one I could freely talk to without hesitation.
The three of us shared the same passion for music, we understood eachother. Ri used to live in Miami and knew a lot of agents. He helped me to get to one of them and that's how my music career got started.
Avi: Do you ever visit your mom?
Sid: I used to do so, but she is not the same. She has a family, she doesn't have time to be my mom anymore. Same with my dad, I haven't seen him these years, he doesn't care what I do, he doesn't even know my net worth.
Avi: Sorry to hear. And here am I thinking that how unfair my life is to me.
Sid: Life isn't unfair. I am grateful too. Anyways, what made you pick California for college?
Avi: ........To be continued…
Stay tuned for the next chapter.
