What things are needed in a city to make it work?
They are almost the same things that a cell needs for working properly and make you remain alive ;)
What's a cell?
The basic unit of life.
One single cell can make an organism or many cells can group to form a more complex organism.
Organelles
A small “organ” of the cell.
•Smaller than a cell.
• Each of them has a specific role.
•Not all of them must be present in all types of cells.
Nucleus
It contains the genetic material of the cell, gives orders to it and contains chromatin.
Nucleolus
It's the nucleus of the nucleus.
It produces ribosomes of the cell.
It also contains DNA, RNA and protein.
Ribosomes
They make the proteins of the cell.
Chloroplasts
They are only founded in the plant cells.
They are used to make photosynthesis.
Cell membrane
Allows the entry of the nutrients to cell and exit's it's waste.
Endoplasmic reticulum
With the help of ribosomes it makes proteins.
Cytoplasm
It's the jell-like liquid that fills the cell and holds the organelles.
Mitochondrion (Plural: Mitochondria)
It's the organelle that gives energy to the cell.
Lysosomes
It keeps clean and removes the waste of the cell.
Vacuoles
They store water and sometimes remove wastes.
They're bigger in plant cells than in animal cells, the ones in plant cells are called sap vacuoles.
Cell wall
It's only found in the plant cells.
It provides support and strength to the cell.
Golgi apparatus
It transports proteins and lipids.
