-Perseus speaks to Jason about an upcoming journey (not what Jason was expecting) and requests that he participate (there's no saying no to the king)
-For the most part things settled down in the Royal Court, but it's the calm before the storm
-People are busy preparing for the biennial Isthmian Games—a festival of athletic and musical competitions open to all Greeks in honour of Poseidon
-They were packing to travel to the Isthmian sanctuary in Isthmus
-It is there that Jason runs into his long lost half-sister, Thalia, who turns out to be one of Perseus's lieutenants of an all female group of archers
-Jason wins the foot face competition and is said to move like the winds, swift and sure. He is awarded a wreath of dried celery, one of Poseidon's sacred plants
-An Athenian woman, Selena, gained the crown of celery for winning the horse race competition, which sparked a reunion between Percy and Annabeth
-Thalia won the javelin throwing contest and was awarded (teasingly) a pine wreath, which was still acceptable because the pine tree was another sacred plant to Poseidon
