"where the hell are you going?" my mother slurred as she heled a bottle of vodka. "I got a babysitting job yesterday" I replied with irritation in my voice, she had been nipping at me all morning and quite frankly I couldn't wait to leave.

"why am I only hearing of this now?" she asked, taking a swig of her drink. "I told you last night mom, but you were probably to drunk to remember" I sighed as I put my shoes on.

she scoffed and rolled her eyes. "are you insulting me?" she asked angrily. "yes, yes I am. you're an alcoholic" I frowned as I opened and shut the door behind me before anything could escalate.

as I walked down the steps I heard the door open behind me. "don't bother coming back" my mother yelled as she watched me walk away, she then went back in and slammed the door behind her.

small tears brimmed my eyes as I walked down the sidewalk, that hadn't been the first time she had said that but of course you always came back, it wasn't like you had anywhere else to go.

after about ten minutes I arrived at the house, with a deep breath I knocked on the door. Michael opened it and a wide grin spread across his face. "(y/n)!" he said with excitement as he grabbed my hand and took me inside.

Constance was already putting on her coat when I came in. she looked at me with a small smile and pated my shoulder "good luck" she said as she walked out the door.

I turned to look at Michael to see he was already staring at me with the same bashful look he had yesterday.

"so what do you want to do?" I said "do you want to play video games with me?" he asked with an almost innocent puppy eyes look. I smiled and nodded

he took my hand in his and led me up stairs. I looked around his room in confusion, his room looked like it had been decorated for a child.

I was snapped out my thoughts as he passed me a controller. "here you go" he said, I grabbed it and took a seat beside him.

I kept beating him in almost each round making him sigh and laugh "no fair, you must be cheating" he groaned. "I haven't even played this game before" I giggled

he playfully rolled his eyes as he stood up. "you wanna do something else?" he asked, turning his tv off. "what do you have in mind?"

"do you know how to make cup cakes? my grandma makes them for me sometimes" he said as we walked downstairs. "I think so" I replied

"can we make them together?" he asked shyly. I laughed and ruffled his hair. "of course Michael"

he smiled and followed me into the kitchen. "okay I'll put the butter and sugar into a bowl and you can mix it" I said as I took out the ingredients "okay" he nodded confidently

we were about half way through when I took out the flour, Michael grabbed a little and threw it at me with a cheeky grin, I gasped as most of it hit my top but some of it got on my face too.

I smirked and grabbed some too then threw it at his face in retaliation, he coughed and spluttered as he wiped it off, I couldn't help but laugh.

he looked at me with shocked amusement before he began to tickle me making me laugh even more "Micha- Michael stop! I can't" I laughed breathlessly, trying to push him away

soon enough he stopped, looking at me with a grin. "payback" he chuckled. "payback for what? you threw it at me first"

"yeah, sorry" he replied scratching the back of his neck, I smirked then grabbed more flour and threw it at him.

after our flour fight we finished making the cupcakes and put them in the oven.

"and now we wait" I said dusting my hands off. "(y/n)? are you okay?" Michael asked as we sat down at the table. "yeah why wouldn't I be?" I replied furrowing my brows

"you looked a little sad when you first came in" he said. "oh uh, it's nothing, I'm okay" I replied, rubbing his shoulder, he frowned.

"you can tell me if your not" he said softly, grabbing my hand. "it's just my mother, she's an asshole" I replied standing up to pour us some juice.

"so, do you have any friends around here?" I asked, changing the subject "no" he said with a little frown, making me frown too

"really?" he nodded "but you're my friend right?" he asked smiling. "of course I am" I said giving him a hug, he wrapped his arms around me and held me tightly

after a few moments he let go, I pulled away to see him blushing profusely as if he had never had contact with a girl before, just then Constance walked in, she turned to look at me with shock. "you're okay?" she said

"uh yeah, shouldn't I be?" I laughed awkwardly. "are the cupcakes ready yet?" Michael asked walking towards the oven.

"yeah I think so" I replied as I opened the oven to take them out. "has he been.. behaved?" Constance asked slowly.

"yeah he's been great" I answered patting Michaels back as he put frosting on the cupcakes. he turned around and smiled at her

Constance still had a small look of shock but brushed it off. "well I'm glad" she said walking away into the living room, leaving me and Michael to finish our cakes.

once we finished we took them up to his room and ate them. "mmh these taste great" Michael said with his mouth half full.

"don't talk with your mouth full" I giggled as I finished mine. "well I better get going" I said, standing up.

"no, please don't go, not yet" he pleaded grabbing my hand to sit back down with him. "why? your grandma is home now"

"please stay a little longer" he asked giving me the puppy eyes again. "okay" I sighed with amusement

"c-can we cuddle..?" he asked nervously. "I- I mean- yeah sure" I answered laying down beside him. he wrapped his arm around my waist and laid his head on my chest

my heart began to beat fast, I had never even had a boyfriend let alone cuddled like this with someone

"your heart is beating fast, are you okay?" he asked, looking up at me with concern. "yeah I-I'm okay" I said, stumbling over my words slightly, with a little blush, he smiled and laid back down, pulling me closer.

I ran my hands through his hair until his breathing turned slow and steady, assuming he was asleep I slowly got up and laid his head down on the pillow, I couldn't help but smile at how peaceful he looked.

I softly kissed the top of his head and left, quietly closing the door behind me.
