Homesick (Part 13)

Class 1-A was sitting behind the screen, watching the distressing situation occurring. Their friend and classmate on their knees hysterically crying. They saw everything, how it went down, the way she clawed at the concrete, and the way she collapsed in her mentor's arms.

"Small time villain organization; HIVE is a group made up of 4 criminals. They attacked Kuhoro City earlier today.". The news reporter began detailing the incident.

A picture of a man, probably in his late 20's was displayed on the screen. "Hoshi Itsu (male) is the leader of this association, with 3 other followers. His quirk was senses control which caused the death of the 18-year-old hero course student,"

Multiple pictures of the girl popped up on the screen, including some of her and her friends. Y/N was in a picture with the girl, sticking her tongue out while the girl was kissing her cheek. They were both in their hero costumes, while out on patrol.

"Sandra Xinzo was crushed under a very large building after Itsu's quirk had made her quirk go out of control on the battlefield. Co-worker,". The female reporter showed a clip of the scene. "U.A. student Y/N L/N also known as the hero Soteria, was on the scene but immobilized by a quirk, while Sandra was crushed. Sandra's last words were "I'm sorry" before seconds later the building collapsed completely."

Ochako, along with most of the class was crying behind their screens as the report went on, sympathetic towards their friend. It made them realize just what they were signing up for by being a hero. Ochako lowly whispered under her breath.

"I'm so sorry, Y/N..."

"Now for a statement by Y/N L/N..."

A short video of their classmate had them all on the edge of their seats, including Katsuki.

"I'd only known Sandra for a few days, but she felt like my older sister. Being a hero doesn't mean you can save everyone, but I wanted to do everything in my power..." Your voice cracked and your eyes watered "To save her.".

3 more people's pictures came onto the screen, one female, two males. "The other 3 villains Izumi Joben (female), Vito Masakazu (non-binary)," The one with purple hair and the magnetic quirk, was smiling maniacally at the camera. "And Eiichi Saki (male)" The blonde haired one with the energy quirk was just staring blankly at the camera, but to everyone behind the screen it was like he was looking into your soul. "Have all been arrested with charges of murder and robbery."

The daily news program was about to end for the night, class 1-A begin to retrieve their phones to contact Y/N.

"That's all for tonight, I'll see you next time on Planet News."

I don't want to deal with anything as I'm lying in my bed at the agency. I turned off my phone, so I didn't get any messages or calls from anyone who watched the news. I didn't eat dinner or talk since the incident.

I knew this would come back and bite me in the ass eventually but currently I don't really care. Tomorrow I'd be heading back home, then I'd have to act normal no matter what because heroes don't show weakness.

The train was leaving tomorrow at 9am so I'd arrive home at around 2.30pm, but what if I never got off the train. Just kept going beyond my home, then people couldn't bother me about what happened. I'm honestly considering it, but then my mind helplessly wonders to Katsuki. It's not like he would really care though, I'm just some chick to him.

A single tear runs down my face at the thought of him thinking that way about me.

More tears fall from my eyes as the memories from today clouded my mind. Footsteps approach my door in a slow rhythm. I shift in my bed, back facing the door that would soon be opened.
