CHAPTER 9

Smoky Mountains
[Klaus, Stefan and Adaria are walking in the mountains. Stefan is carrying Ray, unconscious, on his shoulders]

Adaria's POV
We had been walking for a couple of hours and at this point, and I really didn't care about their conversation and I was really not interested in hunting werewolves, all I could think about was how I was gunna get back to Damon without my dad discovering Elena in the process.
Then my mind suddenly drifted back to reality when Stefan and my father both came to a hault.

I look up to see a load of tents and a campfire, great
"Ray! Oh, my God. What's going on? Who are you?" a dark haired women in her early thirties says frantically whilst running towards Stefan
"The important question is who am I. Please forgive the intrusion. My name is Klaus"
"You're the hybrid" she says, rightfully terrified
"You've heard of me. Fantastic." he says with a giddy expression

"It's fascinating, actually. A werewolf who isn't beholden to the moon, a vampire who doesn't burn in the sun. A true hybrid" he says whilst looking in my direction, is he serioisly still talking
"But none of it's as fascinating as the girl sat over there. She's my daughter and the original Tribrid. Think of her as me, with magic" wow thank you, because I love being a freak show, at least people don't usually know what I am. These wolves now look even more terrified than before as they all continue to stare me down, so I stand up to leave
"Excellent timing, Ray. Very dramatic" I hear him say as I start to walk off
"And where do you think you're going" I hear him calling
"This is all way too depressing, I'll be back later" I say whilst giving one last look in Stefan's direction

I had found a beautiful pine tree whilst exploring which was a nice contrast to my day so I had decu to sit for a while whilst looking out over the mountains, when the sound of splashing water caught my attention

"Get out of the water, Elena" I would know that voice anywhere I thought to myself whilst trying to figure out which direction he was in
"If I get out of the water, you're gonna make me go home" I couldn't help but let out a laugh as I start jogging down the mountain trail, in the direction of the lake
"Yes, because I'm not an idiot like you" he said to her, whilst I watched from afar
"Right now, you're both acting like idiots" said Ric obviously annoyed. What the hell are they doing here
"You're all idiots, willingly being this close to Klaus and all these werewolves on a full moon may I add" I say whilst leaning against a tree
"DARA" Elena screeched whilst climbing out of the river, Damon sped over to me and grabbed me into a hug
"How dare you just leave in the middle of the night like that, especially after the fun we had" he said smirking at me
"Ew" Ric and Elena said simultaneously
"Whatever. There's more important things to talk about right now, like getting you guys out of here"
"Not without Stefan!"
"Elena love, you really do have a death wish don't you. You can't just take Stefan with you" I said whilst suppressing laughter and walking back through the trees

"The map says we've got about a mile left, would you say that's about right Dara?" Ric yelled from behind whilst half tripping over a rock
"Yeah, I'd say the camp is about another twenty minutes West"
"The sun's about to set" said Damon concerned
"I can see that, Damon" Elena snapped, wow what's up with her
"I'm just saying"
"The moon doesn't reach its apex for a while. We have time. Plus we have Dara now, so we're fine" she replied

"Stay where you are!" says Ric I look into the direction that I heard twigs snapping
"Vampire" great, Ray again seriously
He rushed over to Damon and pushed him against a tree. He tried biting him. No!
"Ray!" I yell whilst grabbing him off of Damon
"You know him!"
"Not now Damon"
Alaric shot an arrow at Ray, but he's still trying to bite Damon. Elena takes the wolfsbane grenade from her bag and pulls the pin from it
"Damon!" she shouts, chucking it to Damon and he throws it into Ray's face as I snap his neck
"Let me guess. Hybrid" Ric looks at me
"A failed one by the looks of it"

After using everything we had to tie Ray to a tree and me creating magical restraints he began slowly drifting back into consciousness but that's not all
"Is he turning?" Damon asked frentically
"It's impossible. It's still daylight" yelled Elena
"Tell him that" replied Ric
"This is one seriously messed up Hybrid" I said with a half laugh
"Not funny" Damon snapped
"There aren't supposed to be werewolves out here until the moon is full" "You know, those ropes aren't gonna hold the wolf" "And neither will the restraints I made, you guys need to get outta here now!"

Third Person POV
[Damon, Elena, Dara and Alaric begin running through the woods. Elena trips. Alaric, Damon and Dara stop and look back at her but freeze where they are]
"Don't move" said Dara trying desperately to stay still
[Elena raises her head. She's face to face with a werewolf]
"Here, doggie, doggie" whispered Damon
[He runs. The werewolf runs after him.]
"Come on. Let's keep moving" Ric said to Elena
"We can't leave Damon" cried Elena
"I've got him" Dara said whilst vamping off

Adaria's POV
"She has to. Because I'm never coming back. Why don't you get her home? See if you could keep her there this time" Stefan said to Damon before he walked off
"He's right you know. You gotta keep her away from us" I called over to him
"I'm trying, but she'll never give up on Stefan and I'm never gunna give up on you" Damon said whilst toppling over
"What's wrong with you?"
"Oh nothing, just a little dog bite" he chuckled
"Ray bit you?"
"Yeah, any chance your dad will donate me some more blood" he looked up hopefully
"Unlikely, but it's a good job his blood runs through my veins" I say whilst biting into my wrist
"You cannot be serious. Stefan is only out here because I needed Klaus' blood and your saying I could've just drank yours! None of this would even be happening!" Damon shouted
"I'm sorry Damon, but by the time I found out it was already too late. It was good to see you, but you really should go" I say whilst feeding him some blood

"So the hybrid's didn't work out then" I say to my father whilst walking into the camp full of dead Hybrids
"They went rabid. I'm missing something, but I just can't figure out what it could be" he replied
"That sucks" I say looking at my feet whilst his and Stefan's eyes are on me
"You know something, tell me" he said speeding in front of me
"I don't know why your hybrids aren't working, but i've managed to create a few in my lifetime and this definitely didn't happen" he just stared at me for a couple of seconds before replying
"Get your stuff, we're leaving" he growled whilst I looked over to Stefan who just shrugged his shoulders
