CHAPTER NINETEEN emotional chess
— [THEY ENTER A dark room, with broken pieces all around it.]
Hermione: I don't like this. I don't like this at all.
Sophia: it looks like we're in a horror movie. WAIT! does that mean Bill Skarsgård is here?! [she starts fixing her hair and looking around] he can kidnap me anytime [she says flirtatiously. Harry makes a face while Hermione laughs silently and Ron looks confused]
"THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING" Remus shouted. "how did i not know he was gay, there where clearly signs" James mutters to himself, thinking back to all the signs Remus showed.
Harry: Where are we? A graveyard?
Ron: This is no graveyard. [sighs] It's a chessboard.
[Walks out onto the marble board and flames light, illuminating the board and GIANT players. Harry, Hermione and Sophia come up with him.]
"well, that's terrifying!" Lily says
Harry: There's the door.
[They walk across the board, towards the door. Suddenly, as they reach a line of pawns, the pawns bring up their swords. The four jump and back up.]
Hermione: Now what do we do?
Sophia: call Tony Stark?
"oooo yes!! please call him!!" Remus shouts again. "the signs!" James whisper shouts.
Ron: no... [he says looking at Sophia weirdly, she just shrugs] It's obvious, isn't it? We've got to play our way across the room. All right. Harry, you take the Bishop's square. Hermione, you'll be the Queen's side castle. Sophia you can be a knight. As for me, I'll be the other knight. [They all take their places.]
Sophia: see Hermione! like i've always said-
Hermione: [she cuts Sophia off] yes yes. you are your own knight and need no saving.
"yes gurllll! you don't need no man!" Marlene shouts
Sophia: [looks proud] ah, so you DO listen to me. as you should, i'm amazing.
"YES YOU ARE MOONFOOT!!" Sirius yells
Harry: i can agree with that [he gazes lovingly at Sophia]
"NOOOOOOOO" Sirius shrieks over and over again as he gets up to tackle Harry, James and Remus had to pull him back.
Hermione: moving on... What happens now?
Ron: [aboard a horse.] Well, white moves first, and then...we play. [A pawn on the other side moves forward. Ron studies the game.]
