Sunlight

Light of all things good and free.
Shines not forever,
But more than a million lives.
It's light shall never wane,
Even in death it shines.
Glory in victory,
Humble in failure,
Like it has always been,
And will ever be.

It is the one that gives,
And the one that takes.
Fair is it's judgement,
For none can escape.
Not by a hundred years,
Not by a thousand.
All things come to an end,
In fire or in silence.
Light of shadow and fire.

Light of birth of all things.
Embrace the light,
For it is warm forever.
The first that one ever sees,
And the last that one ever saw.
A mother's care and giving,
And a mother's wrath in anger.
It brings you up high,
To the very edge of reason.

It is one that protects,
And the one who kills.
Sorrow and grief for many nights,
Terror and fear for many days.
Once there were many,
Now only eight remain.
All swallowed by it's core.
Light of death of all things.
