I watched as they all finished their last couple laps.
"Grab some water then we will start the station training!" I yelled as they started to surround me. Four asked me to do today's conditioning considering the control room was in need of some help. Plus I'm a lot more fit than he is.
"Ok. You five," I gestured to a group, " go over there and do pull ups and pushups. You five," I said gesturing to another group, "Go over there and work with the weights. There is a sheet of paper over there, follow the exercises on that. You six, " I waved my hand at the last group, "come over here with me and I'll walk you through the core stuff." I felt like a gym nerd. So technical with everything. I walked over to another set of mats and set everybody up. I had them do planks and bridges and other things to build the core. After everybody went through each station I yelled, "Regroup back over here and spread out! We are going to do some leg workouts now!" I led them through a series of squats, wall sits, box jumps and lunges for 45 minutes.
"To leave, you all need to run 8 more laps around the track then you are done for today!"
They all started running around. They looked so pathetic like they were going to pass out. About 20 minutes later they all finished so I let them go but something caught my eye. I thought I was the only one left in the room but clearly not. Brown hair swayed in the wind as she punched the bag.
"Initiate. What are you doing?" I asked sounding quite strict if you ask me.
The girl turned around. It was Amity.
"I was just going to get in a little more training," she said so subtly. I don't think I scare her.
"You need to eat. Your body needs the right nutrition to stay healthy."
She looked at the punching bag again and gave me pleading eyes.
"Ok. How about you meet me here at 7:15 AFTER you have eaten dinner, I will help you train," her eyes lit up as I said that. She smiled and replied,
"Thank you so much!"
I nodded and watched her leave the room. I picked up my jacket and headed to the cafeteria myself, as well.

Towards the end of dinner, about 7:00 Lauren asks, "Eric, why do you keep checking your watch?"
"Maybe because I'm a leader and I have places to be," I shot back. She gave me a face like she didn't believe me.
"So who's the girl?" Aaron asked smirking. I looked over at Max who was looking at me, his eyebrows raised and a smirk plastered on his face.
"Do you really believe this dickhead is gonna get plans with a girl this early?" Lauren snapped. "He at least waits until he's at a bar and sees some hot chick to screw over and never see again."
"First of all, I've only gotten 3 into bed. And second of all, it's none of your business what I do," I snapped, pointing to all of them. What i said was a lie though. Ive never gotten one girl into bed. I may be mean but I am not low enough to just use girls and throw 'em out. I stood up and checked the time again. It was now 7:06. I threw my trash away and headed to the training room.
When I walked in Amity was already in there stretching.
"Anxious are we?" I asked with a small smirk.
"I just want to do really well," she said. She looked so confident and already she had lost a little weight and gained some muscle.
"Let's get started. Anything in particular you want to work on?" I asked trying to get a sense of what to do.
"Well I want to get better at my fighting. So anything you think will help I'm up for."
Physically she may not be that strong yet, but mentally, this girl was super!
"Ok show me what you know," I said walking over to the punching bags. She got into stance with her hands up, but before she could do anything I stopped her.
"Already I can see you hold you hands a little too low," I bluntly told her and moved her hands up, "You need to keep them higher to protect you face but not too high or else your stomach will be unprotected."
She started to punch again so I said, "When you do your uppercuts, you move your feet in a little too far in which is going to weaken your stance," I demonstrated what she was doing then demonstrated what she should look like.
She nodded and went back to practicing. I studied her movement again. Watching as she punched the bag. Minutes passed and I finally said, "So I never did catch your name." I tried really hard to stay smooth but it was hard to do that around her.
She stopped and looked at me. Between breathes she said, "Sophia."
"Oohh. So you do have a name? I was starting to think I would have to call you Amity," I said with a smile.
She smiled back at me and said, "You know. You should smile more often. You don't look as mean." Wow. How am I suppose to respond to that?
I scoffed. That's rediculous.
"No Seriously!" now she was totally facing me with her hands on her hips.
I shrugged, "People would think I'd gone insane if I started smiling again."
She dropped her smile, now serious, "Again? What do mean? What happened?"
When she said that I dropped my smile too, "It doesn't matter," I put my cold leader voice back on, remembering Natalia. I checked my watch. It was now 8:05. "I think we are done for the night. Good job, I'll see you in training," I told her and walked out.
I can't believe I was smiling and kind of enjoying myself, I guess. She truly was beautiful and strong and her smile. It was just as beautiful as she. Eric! What are you doing! Snap out of it! I can't help it though, I argued with myself. What has she done to you? To be honest I don't know.

I'm so thankful to all of you who are reading! I think I like how thus has turned out so far, let me know what you think though. Please vote, comment and like. Thank you!
