IRENE FELT LIKE SHE COULDN'T BREATHE. "No, no, no, I-I didn't even get to say goodbye," Tears were streaming down her face as sobs left her throat. "Irene," Sersi got up and went over to Irene. Gently pulling her into an embrace. "Please, please tell me you're lying." Irene gripped Sersi's shirt as she looked up at her.

Sersi, who had tears in her eyes herself shook her head. "I'm sorry, Irene. She's gone, it was a deviant." Irene continued to cry against Sersi. "We need you, Irene," Ikaris spoke up.

Irene let go of Sersi and look at him. "The deviants the one that we encountered in London was different." He continued. Irene shook her head and wiped her eyes, "But I don't understand." She looked at the other two girls then at Ikaris. "I thought we killed them all." "Obviously not," Sprite uttered.

"We need to find the others." Sersi rubbed Irene's back. "Um, um okay I'm in." Irene nodded her head and quickly stood up. "I need to go tell Bruce I'm leaving, though." Sersi nodded her head. "We'll wait here." Irene nodded. Walking away from them and to Bruce's lab, Irene couldn't help but she couldn't stop her thoughts.

They were going to get everyone back together. Irene couldn't help but feel her heart drop at the thought of any of the others dying as well. Especially Druig. She hadn't heard from him since she left. And Ajak. The woman she considered her mother gone, forever. Irene quickly moved her train of thought so she wouldn't start crying again.

"Oh god, what am I gonna tell Bruce?" "Tell me what?" Irene jumped and turned around with her hand on her chest. "Oh my god, you scared me." She let out a sigh and crossed her arms. "So uh, I'm gonna be gone for a while." Bruce nodded. "Okay," He dragged out. "How long?" Irene shrugged her shoulders. "I'm not sure. Some of my family showed up tonight, my uh, my mother died."

Bruce gave her a pitied look. "Oh, Irene," He walked closer and pulled her into a hug. "I'm so sorry." Irene sniffled and let a couple of tears fall. "No, no it's okay. But um, I'm not sure how long I'll be gone, but I'll keep in touch with you, Sam and Bucky." Bruce nodded. "Yeah, you go. Take as much time as you need. I can hold down the fort fine by myself."

Irene wasn't really worried about that. "I'm leaving Peaches too, so I need you to take good care of her please." Her voice wavered at the end of her sentence. "Yes, of course. Now go, they're probably waiting." Irene nodded and gave him a forced smile. "Thank you, Bruce." Then she walked past him back to the living room.

"Okay, when do we leave?" She asked walking into the room. Both Ikaris and Sersi stood up while Sprite continued to play with Peaches. "Right now, we're going to see Kingo." "Wait let me get a bag together first." "Can I go see your room?" Sprite asked standing up from the couch. "Sure. You both are welcome to come as well."

When the four Eternals reached Irene's room none of them were surprised by the flora that filled the space. "This is definitely you, Irene." Sersi smiled, smelling some of the flowers. "Thank you, my room before the fight with Thanos was filled with plants that I had been taking care of since I'd become an Avenger. Then the compound was destroyed so I had to start new."
