FirstLove

It was their usual get together party. Loud as hell and filled with not so sober people. The seven friends sat around in a circle grinning and laughing as they spun the bottle and played their favourite drunk game of truth or dare.

Infront of each of them was a glass of garlic juice, a punishment for those who failed to comply with the rules. Though as of yet no one had drunk it as they decided to be brave and do whatever was asked of them.

"Ok. Now it's your turn Jay hyung." Niki called out gleefully, still laughing about the way he had successfully made Heesung kiss Jake as a dare.

The said two people now sat leaning onto each other grinning like idiots at what had just transpired between them.

Jay looked up at Niki, his expression screaming his unwillingness to move for his turn to spin the bottle.

"Let me do it." Jungwon proposed galantly, all too aware of his lazy boyfriend whose lap he was seated on.

As Jay groaned about how that would make him cold Jungwon just moved out of his comfortable spot on his lap and reached for the bottle at the centre.

"Here we go" he announced to all of the excited boys in the room and spun the bottle around.

The bottle continued to spin for a while as the audience watched on with bated breath. It finally stopped spinning slowly and everybody's eyes followed its top to see its next victim.

The bottle had now stopped completely, and for the first time tonight it was pointing towards Sunoo. Everyone clapped with some hollers while Sunoo smiled tiredly as he leant onto Sunghoon's shoulder. Sunghoon chuckled too at their excitement and pulled Sunoo closer toward his side. With an identical tired sigh to his boyfriend he looked up to see Jungwon smiling in triumph infront of him.

"Truth or dare hyung?" Jungwon asked excitedly, nudging Sunoo with his foot as if impatient to get his answer.

"Truth" Sunoo replied with a shrug unbothered.

Everyone looked at Jay in expectation since it was his turn to ask the question.

"Who was your first love?" Jay finally asked with a wiggle of his eyebrows as he pulled Jungwon back onto his lap, a bit impatient to get back into their comfortable position.

"Awww come onnnn. That one's too simple. Of course we know who it is!" Jake complained with an annoyed huff. He crunched loudly on his chips as he shook his head dissapointed.

"Who knows, maybe it's not who we think it is?" Heesung suggested with a shrug as he stole some chips from Jake's bag. He looked up with a smile at Sunoo, "Since you are a couple why don't you both answer?

"Good idea! Well!" Niki said aloud impatient to get the game going. "Come on answer hyungs! I am sure it's definitely each other but still you have to answer"

Sunghoon chuckled as he looked down at Sunoo who was looking up at him with a sly smile.

.... Flashback.....

"I love him OK? I love him more than words can ever convey but he -" Sunoo sobbed as he hugged the bottle of water Sunghoon had passed him a few minutes ago. After a deep breath he whispered "he doesn't love me"

Sunghoon nodded as he passed him some more tissues. "Yeah. Sucks I know" he mumbled and grimaced as Sunoo blew his nose rather loudly.

"Why am I even saying this to you. You won't understand anyways." Sunoo mumbled petulant, his voice coming out all nasally.

"Actually I do." Sunghoon replied with a shrug. It wasn't like he would ever meet this boy again after today. "I am in love too. With someone I cannot have." he looked up at the dark inky sky with a rueful smile as he whispered, "with my best friend's boyfriend actually".

Sunoo stared at him open mouthed, a bit shocked, a hell Lotta impressed. Because damn this guy was holding his Shit together way better than he was. "How can you hide it so well? The pain I mean" he asked finally with a confused pout.

Sunghoon chuckled as he answered, "I don't. It's just that nobody can see. Nobody can see me, the real me. It's ... Annoying"

Sunoo felt his heart ache at that confession of loneliness. He silently patted Sunghoon's shoulder and smiled tentatively, "Now that I know how you feel, I will make sure that I make an extra effort to try and see you."

Shaking his head Sunghoon looked at the stranger beside him that he had met only a few minutes ago at their mutual friend's party. He had walked out for some fresh air and stumbled upon the boy sobbing his heart out.

This was just a chance meeting. Something that would never happen again. But he didn't wish to tell that to him. For some reason he couldn't fathom breaking the boy's illusions.

So instead he smiled and pat his head. "Yeah sure kid. I believe you."

Sunoo rolled his eyes at the insincerity in his tone but didn't bother retorting. Instead he stood up and declared with determination, "I will always see you for who you are. I promise. And I, Kim Sunoo, never break a promise."

.... Back to the present...

Sunghoon had been skeptical at first. But now he knew better. Sunoo had kept his promise. He had made sure to never let him hide his feelings behind I am OKs. Had always been there somehow to help him piece himself back together again.

As Sunoo smiled up at him, as bright as always, Sunghoon couldn't help but thank Jay fervently for taking his first love and giving him his forever.

Sunoo turned away from his hyung's memory filled eyes and looked at Jungwon with a grateful smile. At Jungwon's confused smile Sunoo couldn't help but chuckle. He had been ready to hate his guts when they first met. And he had been ready to yet again end their small friendship when a while later he had found out who Jungwon was for his Sunghoon hyung.

But for some reason Sunoo had never been able to hate him. Neither for taking his first love, nor for breaking the heart of the person he had come to love later on. Yang Jungwon was just someone you couldn't help but love. Shaking his head Sunoo pulled away from Sunghoon a bit and grinned at his friends.

"So we answer together?"

Sunghoon looked around too with a grin of his own as everyone nodded, "OK one, two -"

And at the count of three both Sunoo and Sunghoon picked up the punishment drink. Linking their arms they nodded at each other, and drank the bitter garlic juice.

As they gagged an instant later the boys just stared at them dumbfounded.

"Wait - Wha - " Niki asked confused staring at them.

Jay was looking at Sunghoon betrayed, "You didn't tell me?!?"

Jungwon was frowning as he looked at Sunoo with a similar betrayed expression, "I thought we share everything hyung?!?"

Sunoo and Sunghoon both gulped down water to wash out the taste as their eyes teared up by default. After a few seconds they both waved their hands and declared,

"Not answering"

And so the secret remained a secret as everyone started shouting over each other. They moved on after a while of course, not really sober enough to try and dig out any secrets.

As everyone began with their games again, Sunoo looked at Sunghoon with a relieved smile and Sunghoon looked back with the same smile on his own.

It was fate that had them meeting each other for the first time. Revealing their deepest secrets that otherwise would have never been shared.

It was fate that they met again later on and realized who they were both in love with.

And yet again it was fate that they decided to become friends who suffered together, leading on to something more than either of them had expected.

And as Sunoo smiled and jumped onto Jungwon to console his sulking best friend, while Sunghoon smiled and hugged Jay with a grin, they both internally thanked their first loves for leading them to each other.
