Hang On The Back Filter

     Hang on the back filters are one of the most popular aquarium filters. They hang over the back of the aquarium kind of like internal power filters but more sleek. They are usuly more powerful than internal power filters. One of the downsides of hang on the back filters are that they usuly aren't self primed. That means that if your power goes out, the water in your filter goes back into the tank and since it has to pull the water into the filter, so when it resarts, the motor has no water and it can burn the motor out.
