Chapter 12 - Attack On Mondstadt

"Let's get going Amber!" Lumine drags me to the Favonious headquarters (I forgot what it's called) and takes me to the acting grand master's office.

The only reason why we're here is to book a week long vacation. It'll be fine with me since I hardly go on vacations and I would love to spend my week with Lumine.

The last time I went on vacation would be.. two years ago I believe. Went camping with Eula and rather than Starfell lake.. we camped near Dragonspine so it was cold!

We went hiking, skiing, tobogganing, building snow forts and snow sculptures. We didn't sorry about monsters because well Eula. It's going to be the same case with Lumine. Any monsters in our vicinity will perish.

As usual the acting grand master is busy with so many things. She hardly drank the coffee I brewed for her early morning, but in time she'll drink it even if it's cold.

"What a lovely day it is today. I am a bit more energetic than usual today." The acting grand master puts her pen down and turns her attention towards us. "So how are you two couples doing on this fine weather?"

"Great! Me and Amber were holding hands on the way here." Lumine smiles brightly and I sigh deeply.

"You didn't have to tell her that.." >.>

"I find it cute though." Lumine wraps her arm around me and cuts to the chase, requesting a one week vacation.

The acting grand master thinks for a bit and gives us a thumbs up of approval to our one week vacation request.

"You two have been working hard and Saiken will have a team of his own. He can cover the duties of an outrider I believe. I grant you two the permission to have a one week vacation and don't worry it's also a paid vacation-"

"Acting Grand Master!" Kaeya slams the door open with blood dropping from his forehead.

At this moment right now I feel my heart sinking. There's this unknown fear I feel and it snatched onto my legs. I can hardly move myself and I worry something terrible is going on.

"Kaeya! Your injuries- medic! I need a healer here immediately!" The acting grand master yells out orders to knights on standby. They instantly comply and sprint to wherever Barbara or the other healers could be. "What happened-"

"We're under attack! A bunch of pirates- I mean an army of them are marching their way through Wind Rise! They'll reach the front gates in a matter of time. Eula has already deployed many squads to slow them down. We need to fortify our defences and make sure the people of Mondstadt are safe."

"Pirates are attacking us? How? We barely have any sea ports. Did they travel here by foot? For what reason they would attack us? I need some time and form the old guards. I'll lead a counter attack ambush while Amber and Lumine will begin their assault. Flank them, spread their numbers thin, and we'll hit them hard in an efficient manner. I'll send someone to see if.. Diluc can help us."

"Okay then, me, Amber and Lumine will begin our assault right now. My injuries are nothing but a scratch. Let's go you two."

Without a word from the both of us we comply and follow captain Kaeya. Already the screams of the citizens fill the city with terror and fear. The people of the city make a run for it to their houses and initiate lockdown. They barricade their houses and everyone has an emergency escape hatch that leads them underground should anything happen.

"You! Can you run?"

"Of course captain! What are your orders?!"

"I need you to use a waypoint to Springvale. Take as many hunters they have available and find a good position to bombard them with arrows. Best to spring there for better vantage points and if they know you guys are coming- the better. The more numbers we show the more demoralized they get."
