Captain Garin's POV
There was something always off about Panzerhund#89 I don't know what it was but it just seemed different than all the other models. The way he...it always seemed to hesitate before obeying a order. The way it always emitted a low moan or growl after it had executed a traitor of the fatherland as if it pitied the swine. Every time I attempted to tell one of the lower ranks they always tilt their heads and ask if I was alright or make a polite comment saying how I possibly didn't get enough sleep or how it was just my eyes playing tricks on me. And every time I go to my superiors they would always say in a aggressive tone to (Stop acting like a inmature school child!) Or I would face immediate demotion which would hurt my reputation greatly. But I will show the fools I'll show them all that this thing is more than a machine. That it hides something we don't know. I'll show them.
Panzerhund#89 POV
If I was a human I would have been silently crying. Crying at the actions I had done a few hours earlier. The metallic smell of blood still remained in my front vents I still felt as if I was in the front lawn of that house looking down upon the headless body of the young boy I had just murdered in cold blood to the hysterical cries of the women as she ran forth ignoring my obvious presence to her as she cradled her sons mutilated body rocking back and forth. she finally lifted her gaze to look at mine Monster! She screamed (Sie Monster!) (English translation: You monster!) She was eventually pried away from her son's body by two of the commandos The officer came over to stand beside me and pointed a gloved finger at the headless body (Panzerhund zu ende bringen.) (English translation: Panzerhund finish up.) All my servos in my body clenched up including my tank (stomach) I knew what the officer meant to finish up. To finish up means to dispose of and to dispose of means to consume as in eat. I temporary looked back at the women who was still writhing kicking and screaming the word Monster! over and over again (Panzerhund zu ende bringen !) (English translation: Panzerhund finish up!) The officer said in a more aggressive tone. I looked back down at the body finally after what seemed like an eternity I lowered myself and gently picked up the headless corpse. Blood still dribbled out from the stump where the boy's head once was. I gave one final glance towards the women who now had her face buried in her hands and was sobbing quietly. I'm sorry I thought to myself as I finally closed my jaws in a swift fluid motion. There was the sickening snap of bones as my jaws crushed the small and feeble body. I felt his blood flowing down my throat from the large gashes in the body as I began to chew feeling disgusted with myself I looked back towards the women who now stared at me with a look of such hatred and sadness it felt like her gaze would melt me into a puddle of liquid metal right there on the spot as I continued to swallow small chunks of her sons flesh down my throat. She was right I was a monster... I still remember how the mechanics were confused and slightly baffled at the state I was in as they did their daily checkup on me. (Jesus christus warum tut diese so viel dampf aus?) (English translation: Jesus christ why does this one have so much steam coming out?) One of the mechanics exclaimed as he fanned the steam from his face while his partner shined a flashlight on my now exposed front vent. (Ich weiB nicht, mann) (English translation: I don't know man.) He replied (Motor Wahrscheinlich
überheizt) (English translation: Engine probably overheated.) He was wrong. My engine wasn't overheated in fact I was letting all that steam out on purpose I was doing what you humans do called blowing your steam off literally. How these men treated these citizens like their garbage. How they show no remorse after taking an innocent life. I let loose another wave of hot steam hitting the lead mechanic in the face. (Ach! Verdammt!) (English translation: Ah! Damn!) He muttered wiping his face with a rag. ( Ich sage ihnen es ist etwas mit dieser sache!) ( English translation: I'm telling you there's something up with this thing man!) The second mechanic exclaimed. (Ich stimme ihnen zu mensch etwas.) ( English translation: I somewhat agree with you man.) The first mechanic replied lazily. It was then that the front hanger doors opened and a familiar voice was heard. (Guten abend herren.) ( Good evening gentlemen.) The two mechanics turned to face the speaker and in my peripheral vision I could make out the same officer I was with a few hours earlier. I gave a low growl of disgust at the sight of him not loudly but enough for someone with a sharp sense of hearing can hear. ( Oh Hallo Hauptmann Garin guten abend zu ihnen.)( English translation: Oh hello Captain Garin good evening to you to.) The first mechanic replied wiping the dirt and oil off his hands with this rag. The officer nodded in reply then looked in my general direction before addressing them. ( Ich möchte nur, damit sie zwei weiB, dass ich dieses Panzerhund voll funktionsfähig bis morgen für streifindienst .) (English translation: I would just like to let you two know that I need this Panzerhund fully operational by tomorrow for patrol duty.) He explained calmly occasionally glancing in my direction. His gaze made me feel uneasy as if he knew something or saw something that the others didn't notice. ( Ja herr Hauptmann Garin.) (English translation: Yes sir captain Garin.) The first mechanic replied. With that the officer turned on his heels and began to walk towards the hanger exit doors. But it was then that the officer turned his gaze to look at me again. I felt that same uneasiness as his gaze met mine. I flinched slightly as I saw his eyes narrow in suspicion before leaving the hanger. Even after the officer had exited the hanger I still felt uneasy. That officer's glare scared me. You humans know that old saying a picture is worth a thousand words well that glare he gave me was worth a million words it showed that he knew he knew the possibility of my sentience if so what would he do? Would he go to his superiors? What would they do when they find out? They would most likely dismantle me for sure. Stop it I scolded myself. Nobody's gonna find out anything I just need to keep my head down and I'll be fine. I was so deep in my thoughts that I forgot about the two mechanics that were still in the hanger with me. The first mechanic gave a deep exaggerated yawn and stretch before addressing his partner. ( Beenden wir hier menschen Ich bin müde und will schlafen) ( English translation: Let's finish up here man. I'm tired and want to get some sleep.) He said ( Ich stimme völlig mit ihene menschen.) ( English translation: I totally agree with you man.) The second mechanic replied wiping his eyes. I watched as the two of them finsh their work on me and head towards the exit. The first one flipping the light switch off. One by one the lights in the hanger went out with a low hum until I was plunged into darkness. The only visible thing for me to see was the faint outline of my callsign number #89 and the dim moonlight through the windows on the opposite wall of me. All the sudden I realized that I was so distracted by earlier and the officer that I realized that the mechanics had forgot to put me into standby mode probably due to working for several hours straight but that didn't matter I could move freely I was free! Taking in this sudden realization I immediately stepped off my platform and made a beeline towards the door. So many thoughts and questions ran through my head as I closed the distance to the door. What would I do when I got out? Where would I go? Would I run to the outskirts of the city and live in the wilderness? Would I be caught as soon as they realize I was missing? So many thoughts ran through my head like a never ending pressure...pressure it was then I remembered that the doors that lead to the exit when installed with pressurized plates that would send out a distress call out to the nearby outpost if there was the smallest amount out of pressure applied to them. Realizing this I slammed my paws into the ground as hard as I could leaving cracks in the ground in an attempt to stop myself but only succeeded in losing my balance and falling as I continued to slide towards the door leaving a trail of sparks behind me. Just as I was about to collide with the door I felt myself slow down to a grinding stop the tip of my left claw just barely touching the door. I imitated a human sigh as I slowly got back up on my feet hopefully the alarm wasn't tripped. It was then I felt the hope of finally being free slowly slipping away. I letted my head and tail droop as I slowly walked back to my platform station. As I got there I lowered myself so that my head was resting on my paws. Why am I forced to live in a world like this I asked myself as I recalled the young boy's last words of defiance before being executed by my so called hand's. (I would rather die than live in a world filled with hatred and no freedom of choice!) Freedom of choice. That meaning meant so much to me yet I had no freedom of choice I was a machine built to kill and maim innocent lives by crazed lunatics who has no feelings whatsoever for them. I moaned sadly as these thoughts went through my head. After what seemed like a few minutes of just lying there I saw through the windows the morning sunlight beginning to trickle into the hanger. As I lied there letting the sunlight warm up my armored plates I barely heard the sound of tires coming to a stop outside of the hanger. I lifted my head up in alarm as I heard the faint sound of footsteps approaching the hanger doors. I quickly stood up and positioned myself into my standby mode right as the door opened. There was the sound of footsteps heading in my direction hopefully they wouldn't notice the large scrapes on my side from my falling episode. When I finally was able to see my early bird visitor I felt my inner servos clench up. It was the officer what was he doing here? Then I remembered the officer mentioned us doing patrol duty today. Although it explained why he was here so early the look on his face was less than comforting as he scanned over my face then his eyes slowly turned to look at my side. His eyes narrowed when he noticed the scrapes. (Was in Gottes namen?) ( English translation: What in God's name?) I heard him say. (Hauptmann ist alles in ordnung da drin?) (English translation: Captain is everything alright in there?) A voice called from the hanger entrance. (Ja ja, Ich bin in ordnung.) (English translation: Yes yes I'm fine.) He said waving his hand dismissively but his eyes never left my invisible one's. (Alles gut.) (English translation: Just fine.) He said quietly. After what seemed like an eternity he ordered me to head to the hanger exit. When I reached the exit I was slighty surprised to see no trucks waiting for me but four commandos were milling around. My attention was then directed behind me as I heard the sound of mechanical whirring from the hanger exit. Soon I realized the source of the noise came from the same Panzerhund that was assigned with me yesterday as it fell in line beside me. (Okay männer lassen sie uns nun aus!) (English translation:Alright men let's move out!) The officer called out as the commandos complied by have two of them head over to my left while the other two went over to the other Panzerhunds right. (Vörwarts!) (English translation: Forward March!) The officer exclaimed. We began a slow but steady march towards the base entrance. Right as we got to the entrance the two guards stationed at the booth along with a kampfhund stepped out. (Name und bestellungen.) (English translation:Name and orders.) One of the guards said in a bored tone. (Hauptmann Garin los streifendienst.) (English translation:Captain Garin going on patrol duty.) The officer replied in a equally bored tone. (Okay Hauptmann halt auf einem zweiten.) (English translation: Alright captain hold on a second.) The guard replied heading back into the booth. The kampfhund that was standing guard near me decided to go forth and sniff my left paw. I gave it a growl of distaste and it responded by growling back. (Okay Hauptmann ihr gut zu gehen sicher) ( English translation: Alright captain your good to go be safe.) The first guard said poking his head out. The officer nodded in reply and gestured our squad to move forwards. For about thirty minutes our squad walk down the seemingly endless road before arriving in the outskirts of the city. The city was in its usual daily bustle cars passed by us and citizens walked pass our little parade occasionally giving a fearful glance in our direction before walking on. For me it was just another day...Little did I know was that everything was about to change.
Captain Garin's POV
I needed to find some sort of proof to show that Panzerhund #89 was capable of thought. That it was capable of making its own desision. I wonder if it questioned if I noticed those scratches on its side? The truth is I knew of his true freedom of thought when it attempted to escape last night. The spike in the pressurized plates was very faint but it was there. Probably just a bird I told the guard who had the phone to his ear are you sure captain? He asked a slight bit of anxiety in his voice. I'm positive I replied giving the guard a pat on the shoulder. Nothing to be alarmed about. I just had one problem. I needed to find a way to prove the Panzerhunds sentience but how? How I thought angrily as I processed to lead the squad pass the nearby butcher shop. It was then I heard faint Shouting coming from the butcher shop. Halt I said rasing my hand. The trio did as commanded and waited in silence. Listen I told them the shouts were becoming louder and more audible. Thiefs! Help someone! Thiefs! I hear it to captain one of the commandos stated the others nodded in unison. After a few seconds the so called Thiefs ran around corner block. The boy had to have been no older than nine his younger sister followed close behind. They both wore ragged clothing that had massive holes in them their hair was a tangled mess and as they ran I noticed a long string of red objects being dragged along the ground sausages. It was then that a man the one who robbed I presumed ran around the corner waving his butcher knife. Help police! Help! Thiefs! He shouted. Although it was my job to take care of the vermin in the city but at that moment I could have hardly care about that man being robbed. What I saw was an opportunity to expose Panzerhund #89's sentience. I smiled thank the Irish. Stop police!
Panzerhund #89's POV
I pleaded silently that the officer wouldn't notice the two children run around the corner with a long line of sausages being dragged behind them. But sadly my pleads fell on death ears. ( stoppen sie polizei!) The officer shouted. This only made the children run faster. ( komm Alise!) (English translation: Come on Alise!) The boy shouted between heavy gasps of air. ( Ich kann nicht Frimunt!) (English translation:I can't Frimunt!) The girl cried tears streaming down her dirty cheeks as she stumbled on the concrete with her bare feet. (Sie müssen!) ( English translation: you have to!) The boy shouted. It was then that the girl lost her footing and fell face first onto the concrete ground.( Alise aus!) (English translation: Alise no!) The boy cried as he ran back to his sister's aid but by the time he got her on her feet he received a sharp blow to the head by commandos rifle. He fell into a heap covering his sister as he sobbed into her shoulder.(Sie kleinen bastarde dass sie wegkommen würde oder?) (English translation: You little bastards think you would get away huh?) The butcher said angrily watching from a short distance away. (Wir werden es von hier sir nehmen.) (English translation: We'll take it from here sir.)The officer said calmly. (Ja, natürlich danke offizer.) (English translation: Yes of course thank you officer.)The butcher replied heading back to his shop. The officer's gaze then returned to the two children who were now huddling together. He bend down to be level with their faces and said in a sickly sweet tone. (Haben sie nicht ihre mama oder papa sagen dass diebstahl ist ein verbrechen?) (English translation: Didn't your mommy or daddy tell you that stealing is a crime?) The boy's eyes looked up to face the officer before quietly speaking. (Sir deren beide tot ich habe kümmert sich um meine schwester seit eiginen monaten.) (English translation:Sir their both dead I've been taking care of my sister for several months now.) (Ich sehen.) (English translation: I see.) The officer said slowly. For a moment everyone was quiet except the occasional sob from one of the children. Finally the officer spoke up in his sweet tone. (Nun, sie wissen dass sie beide gehen sehen sie bald, denn niemand wird sie hier vermissen.) (Well you know you both can go see them soon because no one will miss you here.) When he said those words it didn't translate to me clearly at first but when it did it felt like the whole world was collapsing around me. The officer then gave a nod to the two commandos positioned behind the children. They immediately wretched the two away from each other who were now flailing, kicking and screaming. (Ah du ficken schlampe!) (English translation: Ah you fucking bitch!) One of the commandos shouted as he letted the girl go and grabbed his gloved hand. The girl didn't make it far and was apprehended immediately by the officer and received a harsh slap across her face.(Kleine schlampe hat mich gebissen!)
(English translation:Little bitch bit me!) The Commando shouted revealing his hand which had several punctures where small droplets of blood dribbled out. The officer nodded then looked back at the girl as a sadistic smile slowly appeared on his lips. ( Du zuerst.) (English translation: You first.) He said. I knew what he meant by that and it made me physically sick to know what he was expecting me to do. You have to do it I told myself that officer knows to much about your sentience and if you reveal it you will surely go to the junk yard. But she's just a child a smaller voice replied. She's hungry look at the state she's in if you were a human you'd be doing the exact same thing. But I'm not a human the stronger voice defended I'm a machine built to kill nothing more nothing less. (Panzerhund vorwärts.) ( English translation: Panzerhund forwards.) The officer shouted. I did as commanded and slowly approached the girl who now had her hands over her head.(Nein! Nein! Bitte!) ( English translation: No! No! Please!) She screamed. You got to think about this it isn't right! The smaller voice was slowly but surely becoming stronger. Don't think just do. You will forget about by the end of the day the defiant voice replied. (Öffnen sie.) ( English translation:open.) The officer commanded and I did as told and opened my jaws. (Kein Alise!) ( English translation:No Alise!) The boy cried struggling in the commandos grasp. The officer turned to face him (Schweigen.) ( English translation:Keep quiet.) He said giving him that sick and twisted smile (Ihre nächste.) (English translation: Your next.) The girl continued to sob as the officer forcefully pushed her head above the tooth that the boy whom I murdered yesterday laid his chin on. (Panzerhund ausführen!) (English translation: Panzerhund execute!) The officer shouted struggling against the girls feeble attempts. (Nein bitte!) ( English translation: No please!) The girl screamed. You don't want to do this the small voice shouted. You want to remain concealed from society killings innocent people just because your sacred??!! You coward. You lowlife scumbag son of a bitch coward!! The the second voice was so loud it made the oil in my head flow faster and causing my to let out heavy amounts of steam for my front and back vents. The defiant voice was nothing more than a very faint whisper I knew what I had to do. (Panzerhund ausführen!) ( English translation: Panzerhund execute! ) The officer shouted in a more aggressive tone but I was through with his orders making me kill people for his own pleasure. In one swift move I removed my jaws away from the girls head and swung my tail around connecting with the officers face and sent him flying backwards hitting a concrete pillar where he landed and slumped over not moving. ( Heilige verdammte scheiBe!) ( English translation: Holy fucking shit!) The Commando who held the boy exclaimed before releasing his grip on him and aiming his rifle at me. For a moment I directed my attention towards the girl in front of me who was still in shock and fear at the actions I had just done. I gave her a slight reassuring growl and it was then that she understood what I had done. (Danke.) ( English translation:Thank you.) I gave a low growl in response my attention was taken off her when one of the commandos began screaming hysterically ( Feuer frei! Feuer frei! Man töten dieses verdammte ding!) ( English translation:open fire! Open fire! Kill that fucking thing! ) I made sure to see that both the boy and the girl were out of the line of fire as the bullets from the four commandos rifles pinged harmlessly off my armored plates. It was then I heard the officers voice above all the gunfire. (Alarm Ich brauche hier backup jetzt habe Ich einer rogue Panzerhund auf meinen händen habe!) ( English translation: Alarm! I need backup here now I've got a Rogue Panzerhund on my hands! ) I was slighty surprised. How did the officer regain consciousness that fast? Did I not hit him hard enough? That didn't matter it was only a matter of time before the reinforcements arrived then I would be really screwed so I did the only thing anyone would do I ran.
Captain Garin's POV
I knew it! I goddamn knew it was sentience now that I have proven it but it came at a price I just had enough time to notice it's mace like tail being swung in my direction. I had no time to react. If this is what being hit by a sack of bricks felt like it was less than pleasant. I felt myself being launched into the air before hitting something solid. It felt like my back shattered into a million pieces before everything when black.
Open fire! Open fire! Kill that fucking thing! I regained conscious when I heard the steady sound of gunfire. The metallic taste of blood was strong in my mouth as I opened my eyes to a shocking sight. The four commandos that were assigned to me were firing at the Panzerhund yet it seems to have its attention directed at me as the commandos continued to fire at it. Seeing this as a once in a lifetime opportunity I got on the radio ignoring the pain in my mouth and began screaming Alarm! Alarm I need backup here now I've got a Rogue Panzerhund on my hands! There was silence on the other side to which I directed my attention back to the rogue machine just to see it turn around and sprint down the street cars honking their horns and swerving to the side to get out of its way. Uhh Captain I believe I didn't hear you correctly a voice drawled on the other end of the radio said. Did you say a rogue Panzerhund? Yes goddammit! I replied screaming into the headset I have a malfunctioning Panzerhund on the move it just ran down the street towards the construction site I'm sending Panzerhund seventy-four to intercept! Okay captain I've sent several units to your location they'll be there in a couple of minutes. Roger that I replied. Captain are you alright? one of the commandos asked. Your wounded. I had forgotten in all my haste that I was bleeding profoundly. I touched the side of my mouth and felt it move inwards. It was then I realized that the Panzerhunds tail had sliced the left side of my mouth open but I felt no initial pain yet I'm fine I stated ignoring the commandos urgent pleas for him to help me. I directed my attention towards the idle Panzerhund #74 that had been in standby mode this whole time. Panzerhund #74 Pursue and capture the traitor! I shouted the best I could immediately the other Panzerhund did as it was told and ran down the street after the retreating form of the rogue Panzerhund.
Panzerhund #89 POV
I was such an idiot! I mean such a freaking idiot! I mean what was I gonna do?! Where was I gonna go?! I just had to play the Damn hero's role and look where that got me!! You did what was necessary the voice in my head said. They would have made you execute her if you didn't do what you just did. That was true but it came at a huge price the officer knew of my sentience now and it was only a matter of time before the whole Damn Nazi army would come down on top of me. As if to empathize my point I heard the distance sound of sirens growing closer. My attention was then brought to a nearby construction site. Yes that would do there's got to be a good hiding spot in there. With a slight spring in my run now I began to close the distance to the construction site. Right as I got to the front gates I felt something heavy hit me hard in the back causing me to lose my balance and fall over getting mud and dirt all over me. I quickly stood up to face my attacker and I visibility deflated when I saw who it was. It was the other Panzerhund from earlier and it didn't look to happy. It growled loudly and gave a few short barks. I really didn't have time for this but I couldn't see any alternative ways out so I decided to play along growling and snapping my own sharp teeth. Taking this as a challenge the Panzerhund reared back then charged at me. I waited for the right moment and right when it was about to hit me I quickly dodged to my left causing it to crash into one of the construction pillars it was temporary stunned but not for long. Seeing this as an opportunity to finsh this fight I charge forwards opening my jaws to their fullest length before closing them onto the Panzerhunds neck. I shook my head violently feeling the wires and cables being torn from its neck. This only seemed to enraged my mindless duplicate as it reared back on its hind legs causing me to lose my grip and balance on its neck. Before I had a chance to get back up I felt the Panzerhunds sharp teeth close on my left leg as it did the same violent shaking of its head in an attempt to rip my leg off. I tried to get it to release its grip on my leg but it was futile with an explosion of sparks and oil the lower part of my leg was ripped from its joint being connected to my upper leg. I've never experienced pain before and when I experienced it for the first time it was the worst sensation I had ever felt as if a million grenades were going off inside my upper leg. I letted out a roar of agony as my duplicate violently shook my now severed lower leg like a puppy with a chew toy. I knew that this was a huge advantage for him and I wouldn't last much longer if I continued to fight not to mention the police that would be arriving any minute now. I quickly searched the construction site for any nearby hiding spots but to no avail. Dammit your just not looking hard enough I told myself angrily look dammit look! My eyes finally fell on a sewage pipe that lead into the city it looked like it would be just enough for me to fit in. I made sure to see if my duplicate was still distracted and sure enough it was still chewing on my severed limb. See this opportunity I began to limp as fast as I could towards the sewer entrance. The pain in my upper leg felt like a mini nucular explosion was going off in the inside as loose wires and cables continued to flop uselessly as I continued to walk. I ignored the pain and continued to focus on my goal of reaching the sewer entrance. A loud roar interupted my thoughts as I turned my head to see if the Panzerhund had noticed my absence. Unfortunately it did but fortunately it didn't know where I was...yet this made me double my speed into making to the drainage pipe before he noticed. Finally after what seemed like an eternity I reached the drainage pipe. I carefully picked myself up using my right leg and stump to haul myself up into the drainage pipe. I did one final glance behind me to make sure I wasn't followed and fortunately I wasn't. I saw the flashing red lights and sirens as the police arrived on scene I letted a huge amount of steam through my front vents ignoring the putrid oder that came to follow that...was to close I thought as I continued to make my way through the drainage pipe.
Captain Garin's POV
I felt my smile of triumph slowly disappear when our patrol car approached the construction site. Instead of a temporary disabled hulk of a Panzerhund laying on its side we pulled up to reveal the Mindless Panzerhund shaking its head violently with something in its mouth. Drop! I ordered as we approached it. It complied and letted the object fall from its mouth. It was a severed and nearly unidentifiable metal limb. Well it looks like we did a small number on our rogue Panzerhund at least. I scanned the area for any signs of were it went. My attention was soon brought to the ground when I saw a barely visible line of oil making its way toward a drainage pipe that lead into the sewers. Great I thought sarcastically. A few months ago we had a rat infestation in the sewers now we have a rogue Panzerhund running through them. It was already to late to continue the pursuit by now it would've probably had a huge lead on us now. The only thing we could do now was seal off all the sewer entrances and do a full perimeter sweep of the entire sewer system. But onto other matters the higher ups would need to know of this situation immediately especially General Strasse the creator of the Panzerhunds design. Since when did Panzerhunds randomly gain freedom of thought and attack an officer unexpectedly and then run off into hiding in the sewers? All these questions ran through my head as a got into the passenger seat of one of the patrol cars. Where to captain? The driver asked starting the ignition. General Strasse's Headquarters I replied calmly. The driver nodded and began to drive out of the construction site. If anyone has answers to these questions the General does.
Panzerhund #89 POV
I continued to make my way through the foul smelling water as I came to another junction I looked left then right. After a few minutes of deciding I chose to go right. A sharp sense of pain came from my stump of a leg which still leaked oil and would spark from time to time. None of this would've happened if I just followed my damn orders I thought angrily to myself as I stumbled through the water. But then again I did what I had to do I thought remembering that little girls look of pure terror when she was brought before me. I did what was right I thought that little girl and her brother would've been killed if I hadn't done what I did. And so here I was lost in some filthy human sewer with no sense of where I was going with the whole city on the lookout for me. I exhaled heavily from my front vents as I came to another junction and headed left. I don't know how long I was limping through the sewers before I heard the faint voices. I was in the middle of stopping due to another spike of pain in my upper leg when I heard the voices. It was hard to comprehend what they were saying but I managed to make out a few words. Blazk...dow....he....nger... was what I managed to hear. There was then the faint sound of someone descending down a flight of stairs I realized that the pipe that I was in took a slight downwards slope from where the footsteps descended. Seeing as there was no way to turn around due to the pipe being to tight I had to take my chances and head down the pipe. I tried to be as quiet as I could using my claws to slow my descend until the pipe was evenly straight again I began to move slowly again through the pipe when I came across a shaft at the bottom of the pipe. Being slightly curious I leaned forward slighty to see what was out there. There was nothing of particular interest in the room just an old damaged concrete tunnel that once looked like some sort of old construction project lost since forgotten. I received an initial shock when I heard the sound of someone clearing their throat before the sound of heavy footsteps followed. I ceased all moment as the person came into view I only had a slight view of the person but I did manage to make out a few of his features. He worn a slightly used white shirt with some tears and grease stains on it. He worn brown jeans along with black combat boots. I couldn't really make out his facial features due to him standing above the pipe I was in all I could make out at the moment was his clean nearly bald blonde hair but the most distinctive feature of him at the moment was the large scar that ran along the back of his head. Wonder where he got that from I thought as I shifted my body slightly but I didn't realize I made a bad desision as I laid my severed limb directly above the shaft as several drops of oil fell from the damaged limb onto the man's shoulder. I quickly removed the limb from the shaft and held my imaginative breath as the man reached over and touched where the oil droplets had hit his shoulder. He then looked up directly at where I was hiding. His facial features were to say at the moment terrifying. His face was unshaven and had Many scars from previous battles I presumed his mouth was set to a deep scowl but it was his piercing blue eyes that made me the most anxious as if he could see right through the vent directly at me. After a long silence he looked away from the shaft and I heard him say in a low voice. Cautiousness is getting the best of me. He said to himself as he gave a low chuckle. What shocked me the most was his figure of speech it wasn't german in fact into was a language that was long presumed dead called English. I had never met a person who spoke in the English language before. The place where English was born in was the former country of great Britain but it was also used a lot in another former country called the United States. Could this man be a former citizen of those two countries. I wanted to know more. It was then that the man continued to walk out of the old construction room into the next room. I slowly followed close behind making sure my claws didn't make any loud noises. I finally reached another shaft in the next room but it turns out that it wasn't a room at all. Whoa I thought as I peered through the shaft ast what appeared to be a large hanger. There were stacks of crates that were littered throughout the hanger. There was also a large network of pipes running through the hanger and on the far left side were three unique looking helicopters that I had never seen before perched on makeshift landing platform's. I took notice of the folded dual twin rotors that each one had. Probably some new type of Nazi prototype helicopter I thought. How in the world did these people get their hands on this type of military hardware? My thoughts were interupted when Scar head as I decided to effectively name him called out in the direction of the helicopters. Hey Fergus you there? Scar head called out. Yeah. Another voice replied however his accent was slightly different than Scar head's one. The owner of the voice finally came out from underneath one of the helicopters. I'm here. The man who I guess was Fergus looked slighty older than Scar head his brown hair and beard seemed to signify that. He worn blue jeans brown shoes and a yellow shirt that said (GLASGOW 1939) on the front. Watcha need Blazko? He asked placing the wrench he'd been using on a nearby box and wiping the sweat from his forehead. The man who was called Blazko replied. Tekla said that you had the keys to the archives mind if I borrow them for a moment? Yeah hold on. Fergus replied before walking over to a nearby toolbox and opening the top drawer. There was the sound of tools being suffled before a loud thud could be heard. Goddammit! I heard Fergus suddenly shouted making me jump slightly at the sudden outburst. What's wrong Fergus? Blazko asked also sounding slightly suprised at Fergus's outburst. What's on your mind? Blazko asked trying to be careful with his words. I don't know nothing everything! Fergus replied throwing his hand's up. What are you trying to say? Blazko asked still not getting where Fergus was going. Goddammit Blazko! Fergus shouted again. It's about Private Wyatt! That one lad that assaulted Deathshead's compound with us back in 46! So...What your trying to say is...Blazko started to say but was interupted by Fergus. What I'm saying Blazko is that he should be here right now not me! He shouted. He had a potential he did and now your stuck with this...He gestured to himself. Useless...fuckin skeleton! Fergus Blazko said raising his hands in a passive manner we'll all get out of this together. Yeah Fergus replied his aggressive demeanor not changing and who will pick up the holsters after we're to battered up to carry them huh?! He then walked up to Blazko so that their faces were mere inches apart from each other. I should've died back there Blazko! He shouted. I would have gladly accepted it! But you were just to Damn stubborn were ye?! He then grabbed one of Blazko's shoulders. You me we're just two mummies from the pa...It was then that I shifted my body slightly to get a better look at what was going on beneath me. My metal plates scraped the side's of the walls emanating a loud screech that made me freeze in my movements. Both of them looked up at where I was hiding. Did Ya hear that?! Fergus asked his demeanor less aggressive but more cautious. Yeah I heard it alright Blazko replied his voice filled with suspicion. Whaddya reckon it is? Fergus asked. Couldn't be water pressure that pipe was sealed off years ago and that's definitely no rat unless the Nazis are conducting new mutant experiments. I don't think it's any of those either. Blazko replied in a suprisingly calm voice. In fact I think it's something else...something bigger. OK time to get the heck outta here! I thought frantically. They obviously knew of my presence and I didn't want to know what they'd do to me when they found what I was. I desperately tried to crawl my way through the tightly spaced pipe as fast as I could but due to having damaged limp it slowed my process down. Yeah there's definitely something up there! Fergus shouted I'd say we blow the fucker up and have him for breakfast! I agree with you there I heard Blazko reply. There was the sound of a weapon being loaded. This only made my attempts of escaping even more frantic. You might wanna cover your ears I heard Blazko say. Nah I'm good Fergus replied. Hiding won't do Ya any good Ya fuckin Nazi rat! He shouted. There was a loud whoosh as the weapon was fired before the entire pipe in front of me exploded in a flurry of metal and concrete. Yeah not so tough now are ye?! I heard Fergus exclaim as another loud whoosh drowned out his words. The pipe behind me exploded some of the hot metal sticking to my outer plates before shaking them off. Enjoy breathin while Ya still Nazi Fergus shouted because Ya won't be breathing no more he exclaimed as the weapon fired for the third time. I braced myself for the coming pain I was about to experience. Just let me deactivate quickly I thought as the pipe around me exploded. I felt hot shrapnel hit my body as the pipe underneath me give out I prayed to every god imaginable that I would hopefully land upright but unfortunately my prayers weren't answered and I ended up landing on my injured side along with half a ton of concrete landing on top of me. Ouch I thought to myself as I gave a low growl of pain . Note to self next time don't go through the sewer... better yet just don't go through them at all! I was soon brought out of my thoughts when I heard Fergus shouting. What in the Holy mother loving of Jesus christ!
