"where is he? " I mumble looking out of the window trying to spot red velvet cookie

"he is never this late," I said glancing at the cake hound next to me

"it's ok chiffon I promise he will be here soon," I say petting him and sitting back down on the couch as chiffon curls up on my lap as I give him head pats I slowly start to close my eyes and start to fall asleep

at around 5 am I hear the door crack as chiffon wakes up and starts wagging his tail waiting to see red velvet walk through to door red velvet walks in as quietly as he can as chiffon jumps of the couch to run over to the cookie

" hey good boy," he says whispering

" what took you so long baby," I say harshly standing up and turning on the lights

"B-babe I thought you were asleep," he says waving his hands in front of his face

" well I was but I was waiting for you ! what took so long !??! "I say slightly bending over

" are mission went completely wrong, " he says look at the ground and talking of the shoes

" awe baby how so, "I say hugging him as he sits on the couch

"I don't wanna talk about it ... can we just go up to the bed,  " he says looking up at me

" Of course baby! "I say I start to head up the stairs as red velvet and chiffon follows

When we make it up the stairs to our shared room red velvet quick plops onto the bed

¨babe don't you wanna change into something comfier before you sleep?¨ I say handing him a pair of pyjamas

¨ Y-Yea "he says grabbing it and heading to the bathroom¨ 

¨cmon chiffon get ready for bed, hop on ¨ I say patting the bed and sitting chiffon jumps on and finds a comfy spot on a pillow at the end of the bed red velvet walks in and turns off the lights I lay down as  red velvet lays down next to me I slowly futter my eyes closed red velvet tosses and turns around 3 times which he usually doesn't do especially when its this late

  "red what's wrong¨ I say sitting up and staring at him  

¨I can't sleep...¨ he says quietly peeking through the blankets chiffon is already passed out at the edge of the bed  

¨ oh baby you should have told me I would be glad to help you! ¨ I say laying back down and wrapping my arms around him I shove his head in my chest and start to snuggle my head atop his   he closes his eyes as I do as well as we both fall asleep peacefully 

 I feel some moving my arms which disturbs my sleep I open my eyes and glance down to see red velvet wide awake I turn to see the clock 7:am

¨ red why are you awake?  it's only been around two hours  ¨ I say patting his head

¨ I don't know im tired but I can seem to fall asleep ¨ he mumbles lightly peering up at me 

¨ well wanna switch positions?¨ I say to the cookie 

¨ yea that might help  ¨ we switch into positions where I'm laying on my back and red velvet is laying down on my tummy I watch red close his eyes and drift into a peaceful sleep as I ruffle and play with his hair for a bit before falling asleep as well

it is 12:05  on a school night    🛏🏃‍♀️
