I was waiting for Luke in the library scrolling through my phone when I saw an alarming twitter post.

Corbyn Besson Spotted With Lera Clark

It was during the day time. Lera was wearing jeans and a cute black crop top looking over towards Corbyn who was holding her things for her. One bag was from Brandy Melville and the other was another female company I couldn't identify. It looked as if they were shopping together.

As I scrolled through I saw all the comments accusing him of cheating. I needed to study for my upcoming quiz, I didn't have time for twitter gossip. Although, the post did make everything look pretty suspicious.

Just in case, I took a screenshot of the post and sent it to Corbyn.

"Hey, you alright? You look like something's up?" Luke asked coming up from behind me.

"Yes, I'm alright. There's just some home troubles. I can be out for as long as needed though, I just need to let my mom know because she's watching Carter," I explained.

"Carter?" Luke questioned.

"My son," I answered, "Turning two in early November."

"Oh that's crazy. I didn't know you already had one," Luke exclaimed, "Makes you even stronger! His father a student too?"

"His father is no longer involved," I replied, "But he does business in New York City."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Must have been a recent breakup," Luke frowned, "If you ever wanna talk about it I'm here."

"Aw thank you so much for your offer, it was some time ago so I'm doing okay. His real dad I like to say is my current boyfriend. He's back in LA right now, so we're doing long distance. He really misses Carter and I," I finally had revealed Corbyn to him.

I saw a quick frown on Luke's face. Then it disappeared and he befan talking, "That's great to hear, glad to hear you got an upgrade."

"Yeah the other guy was a scumbag. He cheated on me," I sighed looking down at my phone to see that there were several texts and two phone calls from Corbyn.

"I've been cheated on before. The pain is unimaginable until you experience it. I'm so sorry, you did not deserve that at all. You're showing him though, new boyfriend, law school, soon to be new baby. You're doing it," Luke encouraged with nothing but a smile on his face.

"Thank you so much," I replied, "Now let's get started studying!"

We whipped out our books and let them thud on the table. Back and fourth we went over terms, dates, names, and concepts. It had turned into a game where we tallied who was getting more answers right. Whoever won, had to buy the other a coffee before the actual quiz. The bidding was fun and definitely encouraged us to really understand and remember what we got wrong since that question would be asked again.

Neither of us noticed that we were there for two hours already until someone else came up to ask demanding to have the study room. We begged for thirty more minutes and then they left. All the key terms were down, but we needed to wind down.

We put all of our belongings into our backpacks and just hung out for a while.

I told Luke all about Matt and Corbyn, but then I figured that was enough. I knew hardly enough about him.

"You know what, give me like a synopsis of Luke," I teased.

"Well my name's Luke Carmichael born to Mary and John. I have two older siblings Ella and Jake. Ella's a child psychologist and Jake's a doctor. My parents definitely are proud of us, but these positions were low-key given to us. I really don't like telling people but my family is incredibly well off. I'm telling you because you seem like you wouldn't judge someone based off of that. Anyone someone hears of me they don't believe that I earned my place here. I was engaged to a girl for a few months, but we recently called it off. I had found out that she was cheating and just in it for the money. It should have been a red flag in the beginning when she asked me if I was gonna pay before even ordering our food."

"I'm so sorry. That's awful, your ex fiancée sounds terrible, I hope law school is doing you better," I frowned.

"Much better," Luke confirmed, "I also know it comes off entitled complaining about being well off. It's just I'm more sick of being used and judged for it."

"No don't worry, I totally get what you mean," I replied, "I haven't told you that Corbyn's actually in a growing boy band called Why Don't We."

"No way," Luke spoke, "My cousin loves them. For the holidays she just asks for their merch. I knew the name Corbyn was familiar."

"Oh that's awesome. If he's ever here in town I'll make sure to introduce them," I smiled then remembering the phone calls I ignored, "Speaking of him though unfortunately I do have to go. We need to discuss some logistical things about the holidays."

"Oh no problem. We're about to get kicked out anyways so it's fine," Luke pointed at a man who was cross armed and staring at us through the window.

We got up and left. The second I was alone I pulled out my phone to tell my mom I was on the way back and to respond to Corbyn.

Corbyn: Baby it's not what it looks like

Corbyn: Lemme explain over the phone

Corbyn: U there?

Corbyn: pick up

Corbyn: im so sorry I stg I didnt even do anything

Corbyn: i love you and only you

Corbyn: please let me explain

Corbyn: alright, I get it - call me when ur ready to talk. I love you

I looked at the image once more. He was holding her bags with ease and with a wide smile on his face. They were standing right besides each other, but not touching. However, he was wearing sunglasses that I assumed to be hers.

There was no way in hell a week ago I just told my parents to have faith in him, but now there's images on twitter coming out trying to prove the possibility that he's a cheater. Jack and Zach were already accused, so it would be no surprise that this other member of Why Don't We would do it.

Lera was gorgeous. I was thousands of miles away and pregnant as fuck. The more I thought about it, the fact that Corbyn could be cheating did make sense. After all, I didn't suspect Matt one bit. Maybe I should keep my guard up.

I dialed his number and he picked up immediately.

"Hey baby, I miss you. Are you okay?" Corbyn asked getting straight to the point.

"I'm fine," I grumbled, "It's just everywhere on Twitter and Instagram is this picture of you and this beautiful girl. I've never even heard of her before!"

"Em, that's Lera. I've mentioned her before to you, I guess I've never shown a picture. I was just walking from Starbucks when I saw her on the street. She asked me to hold her stuff while she went to the bathroom. Those pictures are of when she came back. We walked and talked for five minutes before I had to go to the studio. You can ask any one of the guys or the crew," Corbyn had explained to me.

I took all that information in. Should I listen to him? Do I do my own research against it? Is this story even trustworthy? How come I'm seeing no pictures of them alone? Someone in Starbucks was bound to take a picture of him.

I frowned knowing what was about to happen next. The downwards spiral towards overthinking was about to begin.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"I could never ever do that to you. I love you. I would never, the media just likes to play games. She is just a friend and we were together for a maximum of five minutes. Lera has no intentions of being with or getting with me. I love you. Not her. Not previous girls. Not anyone else. You. I love you. Please don't think anything else. To say explicitly, I'd never cheat on you," Corbyn rambled on.

This was exactly what I needed to hear. I put my faith in Corbyn and eased my own anxiety temporarily.
