George couldn't seem to stop himself from thinking about the kiss. As he dragged himself through a full day of classes, it seemed to always linger in the back of his mind, no matter how hard he tried to push it away. And even as he sat through the class he shared with Eric, he still found himself thinking about the kiss when he would normally be daydreaming about Eric.

Or, more specifically, he found himself thinking about Dream.

In a way that was new but not completely unwelcome, George found himself thinking more about his best friend than he was used to. He had always been able to admit that Dream was attractive, but he never let himself linger on it for longer than necessary. And the reason for that was because he knew how easy it would be to get swept up by the charming personality and the pretty, lopsided smile he always seemed to wear.

But now that they had kissed, that was the only thing George seemed to be capable of thinking about. It was frustrating, especially because he knew that Dream probably hadn't thought about the kiss even once since it had happened.

He was still thinking about it as he sat behind the counter at the cafe, his chin resting in his hand as his mind went hazy with images of Dream's flushed face and his messy blonde hair. He was so lost in his thoughts that he barely even heard a customer enter into the shop, and his eyes finally flicked up as someone approached the counter.

"Eric," George quietly spoke the name, sounding surprised as he straightened up in his seat and let a smile melt onto his face.

Eric returned the smile, one palm resting flat against the counter as he said, "hey, George."

A rush of nerves came out of nowhere, and George found himself fidgeting with the order screen in front of him as he quickly asked, "what can I get you?"

"Actually," Eric answered, "I'm only here because I wanted to ask you something. I tried to catch you after class but you seemed distracted so I just figured I'd stop by here."

"Oh," George exhaled the word, brown eyes lifting up towards Eric as he waited for him to continue. He felt a quick flush of guilt, because he had been distracted, by indecent thoughts like how badly he wished he were kissing Dream instead of sitting through a lecture.

Eric seemed nervous for a second, shoving his hands into the front pockets of his jeans and letting his eyes drop down towards the counter as he said, "I was just thinking...maybe after the library, we could hang out and do something else?"

George's eyes widened in surprise, and when he didn't answer, Eric's face flushed pink and he quickly continued, "I mean, we don't have to, if you don't want to. Don't feel like you have to say yes, I won't be offended. I was just-"

George felt himself smiling, and he laughed quietly at Eric's nervous rambling. Eric fell quiet at the sound of it, and George finally responded, "I'd love to."

He watched Eric's face split into a smile, the flush fading from his cheeks as he said, "really? Okay, awesome. I guess I'll see you tomorrow, then."

"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow," George answered, and he watched with a smile as Eric started making his way towards the door of the cafe. When he reached it, he looked back and gave George a quick wave, and then he was leaving and the door was falling shut behind him.

As soon as the door was closed, George sighed under his breath. He should have been excited about Eric asking him to hang out, but he didn't really feel much of anything. He wondered if the kiss had anything to do with it, or if he was just simply getting into his own head too much. He should've never asked Dream to kiss him, it had overcomplicated everything and the worst part was, Dream had no idea about any of it. To him, it was probably just another kiss that he'd never think about again.
