"Swamp"

The theme of this poem is fear. I kinda wrote it as a result of the inspiration I got from my nightmares and horror movies..I watch horror films a lot. Do you?..
Anyways, I hope you enjoy it.

Rowing my boat in this swamp,
I head to a place not seen but heard of,
So I heard but not experienced,
A place of no return,
Eager to know it's mystery.

I look into the glistening river,
I see my reflection staring back at me,
Lilies floating freely on this river,
Swerving my hand on this transparent bed,
My reflection disappears.

The cabin comes into view,
I see it standing firm in the midst of the river,
I bump into the stairway of this structure,
Jumping excitedly out of my boat,
I open the door eagerly.

The dark and Eerie silence gives me chills,
Moving further, a swift black figure brushes my arm,
Looking round with wide eyes I feel Goosebumps,
Turning the knob of the wooden door,
I wipe the cobwebs off my eyes.

There it is!
The mystery behind the cabin,
Sitting and staring into my eyes,
An everlasting grin on its face,
Swinging back and forth on its rocking chair.

I move closer,
Stretching my hand towards it's ragged skin,
Smiling widely at me,
An arm from behind blocking my sight,
My speech and vision restricted.
