2: The Audition

This chapter is literally double as long as I usually write so I expect like triple the love of you guys!

"Have you seen Louis ?" Zayn asks to one of the crewmembers when he is running around in the hallways of the building where they are keeping the auditions. "The first person will audition in half an hour and I have no clue where he is."

"I'm sorry, Zayn." The innocent man shook his head and Zayn groans in frustration . Where the fuck is that little shit?

"Hey, I saw Louis going that direction." Lou Teasdale says, pointing at the door with an emergency exit sign.

"Great, just great." Zayn jogs up the stairs. He really has to work on his stamina, he has none left. When he finally reaches the end, he sees that the door is kept open with a piece of wood.

And there is Louis, feet dangling from the edge, a cigarette in his mouth, a can of beer in his hand and his phone in the other.

"Louis...." Zayn doesn't shout. He doesn't want to scare the boy and make him drop of the edge.

"I'm not coming down, Zayn." Louis sighs. "I have better things to do."

"Yeah you do have better things to do, like look for a new bandmate with us. Come on, mate."

"I don't want a new bandmate, I want this shit to end."

"You don't mean that, Louis." Zayn takes place next to his friend, ignoring the view under him. Zayn is scared to death from heights but he needs to be here, next to his best friend. Louis needs him.

"I am one hundred percent serious. I can't do this anymore, Zayn. I just want to go home, back to Doncaster, to my mom and my sisters. I'm so tired. Why are we going to look for a new band member? So Simon can fill his own fucking pockets? I'm done." Louis takes a gulp from his beer but Zayn snatches the can out f his hands.

"Think about the good times we had, Lou ." Zayn puts an arm around Louis' shoulder. "There are so many more to come. We finally are allowed to write our own music, you have written the best songs I've ever heard. I understand this is hard for you, especially for you, but I am here for you, so are the others and we'll make sure that the new guy will be good as well. We'll make sure that you feel comfortable with them, promised Lou."

Louis quicky wipes away a tear with the palm of his hand and then leaves the edge, stretching his arm out to Zayn to pull him on the other side.

Zayn puts his arms around Louis and hugs him tightly.

"You are going to be fine, the band is going to be fine. We got this yeah."

Louis only nods, tears soundless running down his cheeks. He lost someone so important to him and he isn't ready yet for a replacement.

Lou fixes Louis' face, making sure that nobody can see that he has been crying and Zayn is staying in the room with him.

"I wish I had eyes like yours." Lou says to cheer up Louis, applying more make up. "The ocean is nothing compared to them. Going to put a little bit of highlighter so they stand out even more."

"Thanks, Lou." Louis has a soft smile on his face.

"It's alright, darling. You're ready. You should go now, Liam is going nuts."

Louis rolls his eyes but gets off the chair anyway Zayn grabs Louis by the shoulder and leads him to the arena, where the other boys and Simon are already sitting down.
