If trees could talk,
They'll tell us about the history
What they experienced
What lies beneath the grass and the dirt
They'll say,
"Evil things, evil creatures.
A lot of blood, a lot of tears.
What I saw it's forever printed in my mind."
If trees could talk,
They'll tell us about the slaves
That walked this very earth
And now we're walking on their graves
Although trees can't talk,
We know exactly what they'll say.
