Chapter 3: ~The Note~

So...the rest of my day went by so slowly I was about to ask Nicole to just put me out of my misery. I haven't read the note yet because I'm honestly scared to. Other than my day going by slowly it was also probably the worst day of my life. At lunch today I was carrying my food to the table when I slipped on a spilled Gatorade and had a fudge brownie and a burger smack me in the face. After that I failed three tests and for some reason my car got towed. So now I'm walking down the hallway after my last class talking to Nicole about all the shit that happened today. I was going to ask her for a ride but I need to get some exercise anyways. I wave goodbye to Nicole as she gets into her moms car while I start to think of which way my house would be if I just made a quick run through the forest. I take a big sniff of the air and automatically figure it out. I walk quickly to the edge of the forest and go behind a tree to undress. I shift into my big grey and black wolf and start my trot home. I take my time because I honestly have nothing better to do but read that note and do homework. On my way home I get the feeling someone is watching me. I stop and stand as still as I ever have when I hear a twig snap from about 20 feet away. I turn around and realize that it was just a deer and I'm being paranoid. But I also still have that feeling someone is there lurking in the shadows just waiting for me to walk into a trap or something. I give myself props for this because I guess I'm psychic. But right after I thought that walked right into a bear trap. I have never felt so much pain in my life it was unbearable I couldn't move and I felt like I was going to pass out. A howl abrupted from me that was full of pain and fear right before everything went black.

I woke up in a room I have never seen before. It was all white and freezing. I realized I was still in wolf form which was weird because I was always taught to never go inside while your shifted. I tried to get up and couldnt. I honestly felt like someone had chopped my leg off. I whinned loudly because of the pain. Right when I did a guy I barely recognized threw open the door and rushed to my side. I was so confused. Standing right next to me was "new guy". The one who gave me the note. He looked scared. Like his mother just got kidnapped or someone just told him he was going to die in the next 3 seconds bit he was staring at me like that. Then I realized something. He snelled like that amazing smell again. My wolf kind of took over because I was in wolf form and she started licking him. All over like I was his happy little puppy that hasn't seen him in forever.

I asked her " why are you licking him he doesn't even know us and he smells like a wolf so I bet your creeping him out"

"Why wouldn't I lick our mate silly do you not remember?"

"What the actual fuck? Are you on like some weird wolf drugs?

" I doubt it. But yeah he's our mate and that's why he looked so scared when he came in here. He loves us Clarissa!"

I just kinda stopped breathing for a second. I don't even really know this guy except he's a new guy at our school and he smells really good. I need to enter reality for a second. I don't even know where I am!

"Hey by the way where are we?"

Red giggles. "Hunny we are in his packs hospital. Because you have been out for a few days because of our blood loss. But I'm a little bit stronger than you so I was awake before you and kind of figured it all out myself."

"Umm...OK"

I sit there and try and get up multiple times but I can't. I finally do and stand on all fours and trot right past "new guy". When I'm out of the room I sprint down the halls and put of the hospital. When I get outside I take a big whiff of air to find my destination. I finally fond it but its far away so I jog so I don't get tired. When I'm about halfway to the border I hear footsteps heading quickly my way. I turn and see a huge black wolf heading my way. Right then was the only time I've actually been scared shitless. I did what my instinct told me to do. Run like a bitch. I ran as fast as I could through the forest. I honestly didn't know where I was going but I didn't care as long as I was getting my little ass away from the maniac chasing me. I was running so fast everything was a blur except for directly in front of me. I had some much adrenaline pumping through my veins at that time I was running as fast as I possibly could but the wolf was catching up to me. I was pretty sure the wolf was a boy so there were so many things running through my head of what he was going to do to me if he caught me. He was so close now his snout was touching the tip of my tail. At this point I knew I was fucked. And to top it all off I tripped over a branch, and fell snout first. I stood back up panting and looking at the ground. The wolf walked up to me and did something I never expected. He lucked the side of my face. And he through my school bag and clothes over to me. Why didn't I notice he had that with him before? I look up to his ocean blue eyes and realize its "new guy". I give him a Wolfy grin and nod my head thank you before grabbing my stuff and walking home. Thank god I was only a few miles away.

I finally get home and get the craziest look from my parents as soon as I walk in the door.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN CLARISSA!?"

"I-I went to a friends house, i thought I told you?"

"I TRIED CALLING YOU A BA-JILLION TIMES!!"

"Uh. My phone died sorry."

"Well don't let it happen again sweetie. Oh and we heard your car got towed and its back in the garage. I love you and dinner will be ready in about 15 minutes."

"What the fuck?" I whispered as I walked up staires to my room. I then realized I never read the note. I take the note out of my back pocket because I just put those other clothes back on from the day I passed out. I open it and read it the note scared me and confused me.

The note read:
Dear Beautiful Clarissa,
Meet me at the clearing between our pack territories you know where it is I promise.
XOXO
New Guy.

The biggest question is how does he know my name? And what else does he know about me?
