Earth had all sorts of protectors

Avengers, Defenders, Fantastic Four, the Champions, all of the X-Men branches, and so on. Some of them weren't even exclusive to Earth, but the Galaxy or even reality itself

With so many people guarding the planet, one would think that things could get a bit boring since there was always someone to handle the crises. While it was true that the superheroes had everything covered most of the time, the boredom wasn't a problem at all

At least not for Kate Bishop

An arrow was nailed to the door from afar. From the small compartment within it, an advertisement paper slid out

Kate: Gotcha!

The same thing happened to the door of the house next to this one, and the one that followed

Pieces of advertisement, coupons, and even some newspapers were being delivered to all the doors in the neighborhood by a single car that passed by at slow speeds

From the window stuck out the young archer, wearing a Spider-Man hoodie. When the world didn't require Hawkeye, the superhero, or Hawkeye, the head of Bishop Investigations, she was just Kate Bishop...who was still very much an archer, but also a teen looking for something to do

She just wanted an excuse to shoot things

Gary: How do you nail it every single time?

Asked the man driving the car she was in. Her coworker in this gig and someone who still wasn't used to working with her

Kate: Lots of practice. Like, unhealthy amounts of it

She grabbed an arrow and attached a small package to it. When she shot it, small propulsors helped it reach its objective

Gary: Are you sure you wanna be doing this and not, you know, literally anything else?

Kate: Oh, Come on, Gary! Don't tell me this isn't fun

The man shrugged while he kept his hands on the wheel

Gary: Hm. For you, maybe

He glanced at the area. Nearly all the houses had been covered

Gary: You do make this a hell of a lot easier, I'll give you that

The girl fired her final arrow and lowered her bow as she looked back at him

Kate: I sense there's a "but" coming

Gary: But--

Kate: Aha!

Gary: I don't know. Seems like a waste of expensive arrows to me

Kate hummed before she pressed a button on the device she had on her wrist. Suddenly, every arrow she shot earlier glowed and started floating its way back to her at normal speeds. Soon, the girl had a bunch of arrows in her hand

With a smug smirk, she turned to her coworker

Kate: You were saying?

He just rolled his eyes

Gary: Whatever. Let's get out of here

Not much was said when they made their way back. Truth to be told, Kate was just making time until she got a mission from her detective agency or an Avengers-level threat

Or, well, anything

But hey! At least she got to shoot something
