Imagine Dean trying to convey emotions he feels towards you, but can't say it and stops

(A bit sad, really)

Dean's pov

My heart was racing, leaping out of my chest as I walked towards Y/Ns room. I couldn't think straight around her. I couldn't usually think straight, but she made it different.

I could hear her beautiful singing drift through the locked door. My mind was getting cloudier with something I hadn't felt before.

Love.

I hadn't ever felt true love. I was busy with other girls. Filling desires and making them feel good. But with Y/N, I didn't care about those urges anymore. Just being near her felt like plenty.

I tired to ignore that for a long time. I tired to tell myself that it was just nothing. I tried until I realized that nothing would feel quite different than what I felt, and finally found that love was the word. And love was the feeling. And she was my love.

I knocked on the door, my hands shaking a bit. Y/N answered, her face lighting up when she saw me.

"Dean!" She exclaimed, hugging me tightly. I hugged back. "I am so glad to see you! I need to chose a dress! I'm going somewhere tonight for a job interview!"

"What do you need help with?" I asked, almost forgetting why I came to her in the first place.

"Which dress looks better? Red or blue?" She asked. She held up two plain dresses of the colors she mentioned. I glanced at them both. She sure looked good in red...

"I like the red one," I said, trying to focus.

"Cool. I'll wear that then," she said. I wanted to say something... how could I, though?

"Y/N, I was--" I began to talk, but couldn't. My words got caught in my throat.

"You what now?" Y/N said, staring into me with those beautiful E/C eyes.

"Nothing. You look good in red is all," I muttered.

"Oh thanks!" She exclaimed.

"Bye," I choked. I turned to leave, hoping to hear her say something to me, but nothing came. Only the soft, beautiful singing filled my ears with regret as I walked away from her room.
