Stolen Generation:

Quick warning: If you are Indigenous this might be sensitive to you. However I want to repay my respects to you because we are on your land.

Stolen away
It was so unfair
It was the saddest day
It's not enough to say sorry

When looking at the past
We see the sorrow
Luckily that time didn't last
Most of them didn't get to see their kids again

However we can never forget
How can we?
There is not a big enough sorry that Indigenous people can get
I say sorry for my country's mistakes

Again it's not fair that they went through all this pain
Be proud of who you are, your culture, your life
There is nothing to to explain...
The horrific things that those white people thought while doing those things

So again... stand tall
Be who you are and never regret that
However our past we must recall
So that we don't make the same stupid mistakes

This is poem was created for people to get a sort of perspective on how bad the stolen generation event was and it was just simply horrific that people thought to re-educate Indigenous children. They are who they are and I believe they should not be changed for other people's selfish reasons or desires. To anyone Indigenous, you are beautiful just the way you are don't change and don't change your culture either. You guys have one of the most sustainable and innovative yet enjoyable cultures I know. So be proud of who you are!
