Ni-ki froze as she shrugged the jacket off on one side, and wrapped it around both of them.

     "Don't panic, stranger. I'm not saying you've fallen in love with me." Iya laughed.

     "There's this thing called universal love. It's the kind that makes people donate to charity to help people they don't know. The kind that makes you care for a stranger," she explained. "You may call it decency, or something out of the goodness of your heart, but that's love, Ni-ki. And you have a lot of it to give."

     They weren't even looking at each other. Two teenagers sitting on a dirty rooftop, eyes on the dark shadows that shrouded the other side of the buildings. But, he felt like he'd just seen everything so clearly. Seen her, so clearly.

A minute passed. An hour could have, and they wouldn't have known. Time raced away, and he found his heart was doing the same. He didn't know what came over him.

     "Iya?" he called quietly, and she hummed in response. He turned to her as she looked up at him with sleepy eyes. Eyes he could find himself lost in, and never want to be found.

     His gaze flickered to her lips. "Kiss me."
