Me and the guys were laughing loudly, apart from Luke. He had been really quiet all week, not telling us how it went with Evie, and staying away from Ashton even more, when I noticed Evie walking into the bar, alone. She was looking around for a second before spotting us, it was packed out because it was a Friday night, and I waved her over.

"Hey," I said, letting her sit on my lap, due to the lack of seats, "I thought Alex was coming with you?"

"Oh, we broke up." She said nonchalantly.

"You right?" I ask, rubbing her back.

"Yeah, it just wasn't working," she smiled sadly at me, "now, let's get drunk!" She said, slamming her hand on the table.

Oh, and did we ever. Evie was having doubles of Southern Comfort and lemonade, plus the endless array of shots that she would constantly order for all of us, and she was definitely on some sort of mission tonight.

As it got later, Evie slowly managed to get each one of us to get up, and dance with her. Apart from Ashton, for obvious reasons, though we were still all having fun, and I was happy that we could all be together, laughing like this again, with no worries of an argument happening. I watched as Evie would dance with random people, I could tell she was drunk because of her rhythm, and her arms were just all over the place.

I noticed a guy getting a bit handsy with her, so I did try to keep my eye on him, whenever he would come and go. I wasn't jealous, or anything like that, but I was cautious because she was drinking, a lot, and had just broken up with her girlfriend of nearly three months.

I must remind myself to ask her about that. I saw them just two days ago, everything seemed fine between them, so I can't even take a guess at what ended it because there wasn't anything to give it away. It's a shame, Alex was nice, and she treated Evie really well, she seemed clingy though. That doesn't really work for Evie. She's very independent, and can sometimes need her space, and to just be alone, so it doesn't work if her partner turns out to be clingy. That's why they don't tend to last long, they get too attached, too quickly.

I noticed that Evie, and the guy she was dancing with had been gone for a while, she had had a lot to drink, and I was beginning to worry. I asked the guys, I asked random people on the dancefloor, and I even asked the bartenders if they had seen her, but no one had. I made my way out of the bar, looking up, and down the street, then I remembered something Evie used to tell me, 'when in doubt, always go left', so I did, and I was so glad for Evie's random motos, when I came to a dark alley by the bar.

"Stop! I said no." I recognised Evie's voice instantly, quickening my pace, and that's when I saw them. Evie had her arms up, as if trying to defend herself, the guy grabbing tightly on both of her wrists, and I felt a strange sense of pride, seeing my friend trying to fight back.

"Hey!" I shouted, moving towards them quickly, making him stop, and look at me. She took the opportunity to knee him in the groin, the guy falling to the floor with a groan, hands between his legs, and she ran to me, throwing her arms around my neck. I held on to her tightly, slowly pulling her away from the scene, "come on, let's get back."

She shook her head quickly, I could tell she was still a little drunk, "I don't want them to see." I saw the look of embarrassment on her face, "can we just go, please?"

I nod, smiling sadly, "you don't have to be embarrassed, babe. You fought back, and that was some knee." I laugh slightly.

"Thanks," she smiles timidly, "but I just don't want to be here anymore. You can stay though, I'll be fine."
