JINX'S POV..
I took a sip of the drink and looked behind me to see Ven sleeping. There were tears coming out of her eyes and her face was scrunched up.
"Ven, are you okay? Wake up, please." I said, lightly slapping the side of her face. She woke up with a gasp and looked at me with fear in her eyes. I cupped her face in my hands and she breathed heavily. "What happened?"
She answered by pulling me into a hug and crying into my shoulder. I hugged back immediately, one of my hands holding the back of her head. I kept telling her that it was okay, but she wasn't calming down. I pulled away from the hug and held her hands in mine. I looked her in the eye.
"It's okay, no monsters gonna get you when I'm here." I said, my voice cracking. Her breathing slowed down and her face started going back to normal. "Do you wanna talk about it..?" I whispered to her.
"No, not right now." She said, pulling me into another hug.
"Need something to distract you?" I ask, waiting to hear her response.
"Like what?" She asks, still hugging me.
"I need to get Vi and the enforcer. Will you help me, Fizzle?" I asked her. She nodded her head.
"Anything." She responded.
