Ch. 9

"Fooood" after spending what felt like hours but was only 45 minutes trying to find a Halloween costume, mostly because rock kept denying the ones I picked out, we went to a burger place to eat. When I asked why he kept shutting down my costumes, he said, "shows too much skin." I told him the girls he is with shows just as much; if anything, they show less. All he said after was that I was different from those women and made me change while he found me a costume.

"This burger is amazing." Take another bite; I couldn't help but moan as the flavors burst in my mouth. Smiling, rock hands me a napkin. "Slow down before you choke on your amazing burger," agreeing with him that I slow down and move on to eating my fries.

"So how long is the big bad boss supposed to be gone for?"

"A week."

"Where did he go?"

"Why do you want to know?"

"No reason, just trying to make conversion. You don't have to tell me." Taking another bite, I look out the window. "You're his right-hand man, how come you didn't go with him?"

"I was told to stay here and watch you." Looking back at him, I raised an eyebrow in question. "I don't know why."

"Well then, since Halloween is coming up soon, let's have a Halloween party."

"Party?"

"Yes, party. We can decorate the mansion and have candy everywhere since I'm pretty sure you mafia men, women, or the kids ever went trick or treating or had fun.

"That's not -" he started to say but stopped as he realizes I'm right. "Fine, but it can't be big. The boss will have my head."

"This is not a little party!" I heard rock yell from the hallway. I was currently hiding in the boy's room.

"So, mind telling us why you're hiding from Rock?" Dante asks as he munches on the candy he got from the Halloween party earlier.

"See, I told him it was going to be a small party, which it was earlier for kids. This one, however, for the adults, is not a small party." Suddenly, I hear footsteps heading this way. Quickly, I dive on the floor and hide under the bed just in time as someone knocks on the door.

"Where is she?" It was rock, and he sounded pissed.

"Where is who?" Leo ask. While Leo talked to rock, I decided to look around.

I regret looking around. There were socks everywhere under here, along with magazines of sexy women and a bottle of lotion. By my foot was a plate of a half-eaten burger.

"Well, if you see her, let me know." Thank fucking God, he finally left. I don't think I could get out from under the bed fast enough. "I don't know who bed that was, but a little warning next time would be appreciated." Leo pointed to Dante, and Dante quickly pointed to Leo.

"It's his." At the same time, both brothers try to blame one another. Ignoring them, I walk to the door ready to leave. "Wait, aren't you going to wait a bit to make sure rock is gone?"

"He's either looking for me in Valentina's room if he hasn't already looked or back to the party. I'm going where he least expects." Looking at their faces, I know something is up. "What?"

Looking away from me, they mutter something. "What?" Suddenly, they both start speaking fast at the same time. Thankfully, I caught on to two things. "What do you mean Valentina is not here!" Panicked, they continue to speak rapidly. "One at a time!"

"She went out." Dante started

"To a Halloween party," Leo finishes as they both look down.

I'm going to kill them.
