Matthew sprinted through the rain in the moonlit night. He held a bundle of blankets in hand, its fabric damp with rainwater. As his boot hit a puddle, the water splashed up and drenched his pant leg.

He turned a sharp left down a line of small houses. The rain plundered down on him like a shower of bullets while he slowed to a stop.

A bright blue light appeared in the sky. The light suddenly became closer, growing in size. Then, a hot wind beat down at him as he looked up at the massive ship hovering above him.

The ship settled to the ground as he walked closer. The door opened slowly and a man with a spacesuit stepped out. He handed over the bundle and peeled back the blanket, revealing a baby inside. "Sleep well," Matthew whispered. Then, as backed up and ran, gone just as quickly as he had appeared.
