Aka the first time in years that I've posted a normal headcanon. I came up with this a couple days ago and thought it fit in pretty well with Dreamland's culture.
Anyway, in Dreamland, instead of giving someone a diamond ring or whatever, residents will propose with a special gift. This applies to proposals for pretty much anything, but it's mostly used for friendships, relationships, etc.
Wanna start a friendship with Kirby? Give him a really nice tomato :)
Want Bandana Dee to do a favor for you? Offer him some freshly made apple juice :)
Wanna date Meta Knight? Give him a cool sword! (even if realistically he'd just take the sword and then leave you in a ditch, well...)
Wanna marry King Dedede? Bake a grand cake for him so he can eat it all in one bite and then laugh at your proposal.
...Though, typically when someone accepts the gift, they're supposed to accept your proposal as well. Like if someone asked you to marry them, you wouldn't take the ring and then say no, right? Or maybe you can do that, idk. I wouldn't know lol.
