Chapter 2: Work and Motivation

The day after the group of Wattpad authors were settled into their hideout in Mantle, Tom and Alpha started work on the engine of the Charger. The two already had the hood off and were replacing some of the engine parts in order give it more horsepower. Jay and Rubes meanwhile started cleaning up around the place as they figure, if they were going to be stuck here, they might as well be comfortable. 

Alpha: Tom can you pass me the-

Tom: Here *Hands 1/4inch wrench*

Alpha: Thanks. 

The two had now starting to put a new intake manifold and carburetor on the big hemi giving it better flow. 

Tom: Are you sure this will work?

Alpha: Yeah, I am sure.

Tom: Is around 500 horsepower going to enough for the race?

Alpha: It will have to work, I don't have any other speed parts.

Tom: Sounds fair.

As the two continued their work Jay and Rubes noticed the two working on the charger getting close to being done. The two then approached them to see their progress they have done. 

Jay: Hey guys, how goes the progress?

Alpha: Oh, just need to tighten up everything and it will be ready. 

Jay: Cool, and when is the race?

Tom: *looks at poster* Uh... three days.

Rubes: Alpha, are you sure you are up to the race?

Alpha: Well, I might need a bit of practice, but I think I can win it. 

Tom: Hell, yeah you can win it! Team earth for the win!

Alpha: Please don't say that at the race.

Tom: Don't worry I won't. 

But then Jay turned to the group with a bored look.

Tom: You okay Jay?

Jay: I'm just bored right now.

Alpha: Well, we can't exactly go outside, since there are people looking for Tom and I. 

Tom: What!? No, they wouldn't be looking for us!

Alpha: What makes you so sure?

Tom: They would put wanted posters everywhere.

Alpha: Fair point.

At this point Tom stood up and walked to the door. 

Tom: Alright to prove my point, I'll leave for five minutes and then comeback. If I'm not back in that time...God help me....

He then exits the building leave the three others.

Alpha: God I hope he comes back.

Five minutes later....

Tom then busted through the door with a big smile on his face.

Tom: I'm back!

Alpha: Huh, what you know, He lives!

Jay: So, can we go walk around now?

Tom: Yep! No one will suspect us for anything!

Alpha: But, we are going to take side arms and some ammunition just in case.

Alpha then pulls out a M1911A1 and puts it in his holster along with a couple of magazines.

Tom: Oh so, we're gonna rob someone?
