Maddie- 6

Alec Lightwood-Bane was having a long hard day at the New York Institute, he was buried in paperwork and had to prepare for yet another mission. All he wanted was to go home to his beautiful, handsome and sexy husband Magnus and their beautiful little girl, Madeline Alexandra. Magnus couldn't resist giving their daughter some part of his husband's name. They nick-named her Maddie for short.

Maddie was 6, she was half warlock and half Shadowhunter. Magnus had found out right after their honeymoon he was pregnant with their child, for his and their baby's sake he took it easy through the entire pregnancy. Alec had always been protective of the ones he loved and cared for, when his little girl was born it intensified.

Getting frustrated by all the paperwork, he threw down his pen and sighed frustratedly. He kept his head down trying to calm down, he hadn't noticed the door to his office was opened and a little dark-haired girl popped in. Maddie had Magnus' traits, dark hair, olive skin, nose, and cheekbones. She had Alec's ocean blue eyes and his bright smile, she had inherited his other traits. His courage, devotion, loyalty, strength. The little girl was the perfect mixture of the two men.

Maddie had gone over to the desk and climbed under it, she had always loved surprising her father when he was working. Alec was lost in his thoughts when he felt something move under him, a smile appeared on his lips.

"And who might that be this time?" He playfully teased.

The six-year-old popped her head up. "Me daddy"

"I thought that was my favorite little warlock hunter"

He easily lifted her up into his arms, setting her on his lap just holding her. God how much he needed this. To just hold his little girl for just a few minutes, had calmed his nerves. Truth be told, he missed his husband and daughter. He's been working nonstop to try and stop more demons from invading the city. He hadn't seen much of his family, when he did see them it was at night when Maddie was going to bed and in the morning before she went and started her training.

The six-year-old looked at her father with worry in her little blue eyes. "Are you ok daddy?"

If it was one trait she got from Magnus, always worrying and being protective of Alec. She saw the tired and frustrated look in his eyes, her small fingers gently tracing and caressing his cheek. The Shadowhunter couldn't help but smile at his young daughter, like both her parents, who had the biggest heart when it came to them or her extended family.

He smiled and kissed her head. "I am now baby"

"Baba and I wanted to visit you, I hope it was ok"

When Maddie was younger and learning to talk, she had referred to Alec as daddy and Magnus, Baba. She had kept trying to pronounce Papa, but it came out as Baba. Magnus was fine with whatever his daughter wanted to call him.

Alec smiled and held his little girl closer and tighter. "It's always ok for you and Baba to come to see me. Speaking of Baba, where is he?"

Before Maddie could say anything the doors to his office flew open and Magnus walked in casually, his stomach rounded out again. He had been carrying his and Alec's second child, this one a boy. Maddie smiled and ran to him.
"Baba!"

Magnus couldn't help but smile and hug his daughter lightly lifting her onto his hip. Getting up from his desk, the dark-haired Lightwood-Bane went and kissed his husband.

"I hope this isn't a bad time to drop by" Magnus gave his signature charming smile.

Alec took the back of his neck gently and pulled him close, kissing him and gently resting his forehead against his.

"No, it's perfect"

At that moment Alec felt peace, all the stress, and frustration he once was feeling had disappeared. Just having that one moment with his family was more than enough to ease his mind and put a smile on his face. He hoisted his daughter up and held her close.

"Having you two here is always perfect, I wouldn't want it any other way"
