"Y/n where are you going?" Varian asked me as I turned the knob on the door
"I have to go home now" I replied honestly
He furrowed his eyebrows and came towards me
"I'll walk you"
"It's not that simple Varian" I said
This had been the very first time I've shifted and I didn't know wheather I was gonna be able to come back or not
"I'll see you tomorrow, right?" He asked me with a light smile
"Y-yeah, I'll try" I replied he looked down for a single second
One second was all it took for me to wake up from my dream reality
I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling in my room before having to get up for school
"Y/n come on you're gonna be late for school!" Mom called from downstairs
"Coming!" I answered back
I grabbed my bag and put on my shoes putting my hair into a messy bun
I wore my grey sweat pants and a white zip up sweater with a black tank top and some white Nike shoes
All I could think of was how amazing it felt how real it was. Most importantly I got the chance to talk to Varian!
"Alright class! Finals let's get started shall we?"
I felt my heart stop, I had totally forgotten about finals and completely spaced

Once I got home I ate and went up to my room and braced myself for sleepless nights
I worked hard to complete my work and study for upcoming finals assessments
It was only when I realized that I hadn't been able to shift because of how busy I was
Once I had taken all of my finals and a new semester had begun I was finally able to shift back
I closed my eyes and drifted off into my dream reality desperate to see him again after such a long time
I opened my eyes and stood infront of his house. I then proceeded to knock on the door and Quirin opened the door
"Y/n! Hi, it's been awhile since you've visited" he told me "Please come in" he said with a kind voice
"Varians in his lab, he's been waiting for you actually" he told me
"Okay thank you" I said he nodded and I made my way to Varian’s lab
I opened the door and saw him working on one of his projects
"Dad for the last time, I can't stop until I finish this. The princess specifically told me that she needed this for Eugene's birthday which is next week" Varian said
"Sounds really important" I said he stopped looking up hearing my voice
He hesitated but turned to look at me, he stood dumbfounded as I walked towards him
"If you're busy then I'll come back later, I understand how much this mus-" he pulled me into a tight hug
Tears formed in his beautiful gorgeous blue eyes and they fell soaking into my blouse
"Please don't go" he said his voice was quiet and gentle
"Varian I-"
"Promise you won't leave again" he told me pulling away from the hug
"Varian I can-"
"Promise me, please" he said his lip quivered due to holding tears back
"I Promise"

"Y/n get up you're gonna be late for school!" Mom called from downstairs
"Y/n?" She asked opening the door to my room
"Y/n!" She yanked the blankets off of me and saw I still wasn't waking up
She placed her hand on my forehead
"Y/n! This isn't a game wake up!" She lightly slapped my face multiple times in attempt to wake me
"Y/n!" She picked me up and rushed me to the hospital fear clouding her mind
"Help! Please someone! My daughter she won't wake up!" She called out desperate for help as she walked into the hospital

I looked at Varian who had a big smile on his face
He seemed to be content and more relaxed now and to be honest so was I
**
Mom paced the floor back and forth anxious to hear back from the doctor
The door opened and in came the doctor with a sad face
"Mrs.L/n I'm sorry, your daughter Y/n is in a coma"
Moms heart sunk to her stomach. She turned to look at me in shock, tears rolled down her cheeks

"So you're staying here permanently right?" Cass asked me
I looked at my happy alchemist and nodded
"I promised" I replied to which she smiled
