BELLA'S POV
I woke up a few hours later and felt a headache. I looked around, my brother was sitting on the chair opposite me, lost in thought. I remembered everything that happened before I lost consciousness, my weird dream with the moon goddess and my friends confirming it.
" Hey, how are you feeling? " My brother asked
" I am fine thank you. I just have a splitting headache, that's all. " I assured him. There was silence between us as we were waiting for one of us to speak.
" Look Bella, I know how everything has... "
" How long have you been aware of this Jason? " I interrupted
" Since I started dating Joy," he confessed and I scoffed.
" Really? I can't... can't believe this. I am a fool for trusting you all. You are my brother but you hid this from me? This is the second time you have kept a secret from me, the first was when you started dating Joy, and now...now you couldn't even tell me they are those weird creatures? I don't remember who stabbed me or what happened after Taylor's birthday, my life these days has been in a total mess. " I said already frustrated.
" Listen... "
" Don't you dare say a word, Jason? I don't want to listen to a word you say. You have changed a lot since your relationship with Joy, you have started hiding things from me. " I screamed out.
" Please Bella, don't scream. Our parents are at home, just give me a chance to explain things out. I know that you are overwhelmed by the series of emotions flooding through your mind but we decided to keep this from you for your good. "
" Yeah, right. " I mocked.
" Taylor is an Alpha and you are his mate, Bella, the Alpha's mate," he said and I looked at him. 'Mate?' I knew what mate meant because I was taught that in school during lectures, I was Taylor's soulmate, someone attached to him forever by the moon goddess. If I happened to have been his mate then why did he treat me like trash?
" I know he behaves like he doesn't care but deep down he does and that is because of his wolf that accepts you. "
" I don't believe it. He had always been a jerk and he will always be like that to me. I caught him in bed with Linda. "
" Taylor came to the hospital and told us what happened. " I felt my blood rise not because of hypertension but because of anger. How can I be the mate to such a jerk who has no emotional feelings? I was speechless as I looked down. All these were becoming too strange for me to know and accept. I am Taylor's mate but why? Why did he treat me like he doesn't care?
" Bella, you being with Taylor is your own decision to make and I will support whatever decision it is. " I nodded, " Try mingling with our friends and they will tell you more. "
" Thank you. "
" You are welcome. Please take a rest and I will be back again to check up on you. "
" Okay, can I have my phone back? " I asked
" Sure, let me get it for you. " he left and I sighed heavily as I rest my head on the board fixed to my bed.
