The moon will never shine again.

Shinobu sighed,she was finally ready for her mission. She ran downstairs and saw Giyuu waiting for her,his hair sort of messy but still looked good on the male.

"Alright! Tomioka-san,go on, I'll just talk to Aoi!" She smiled and softly pushed Giyuu outside,leaving him confused. After five minutes,she finally finished and went outside where Giyuu was waiting.

The two walked in silence,until Shinobu spoke up. "I wonder if we can beat Muzan..." She trailed off,staring at the moon who looked good as always.

"Of course we can,Shinobu." Giyuu reassured her. "You think so?"

"As long as we have you,we can do it." Shinobu wanted to cry right now and right there- But she held back.

Shinobu instead smiled at him,the smile she always kept when she's with him. "Giyuu,can you smile for me?"

Giyuu was confused, "What?"

"Just do it,you emo idiot." She teased playfully. Giyuu rolled his eyes, "Shut up."

It had been a while since they teased each other,and Shinobu missed it.

"Shinobu," Giyuu called out for her,his voice somewhat serious. Shinobu stopped laughing and looked at him, "Hm?"

A curve made up its way to his lips. He was smiling.

"The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" He quoted what she said days- months ago.

"Mhm. It indeed is,Giyuu." She smiled back at him.

The rest of the walk was peaceful. Not because they got awkward with the sudden serious conversation,it was because they were enjoying each other's warmth,and somehow stargazing.

The moon looked so peaceful- so livable,like it shined on it's own. The stars lighting up the sky,they were beautiful,but they will never be as beautiful as the moon.

And before they knew it,they arrived at Giyuu's place. "Alright,Good night,Shinobu. Good luck on your mission. See you tomorrow." Giyuu smiled once again.

"Good night,Giyuu. Sayonara." She smiled,as she watched Giyuu close his door. A tear fell from the floor,but she quickly wiped it off and went on her mission.

On the other hand,Giyuu was curious about what she said. 'sayonara' ? He knew the meaning,but she never says that as her goodbye. It's always "See you tomorrow!" or "I'll talk to you later!"

And on that night,he knew something was off. And he only slept for three hours, since of overthinking.

The next day,it was sunny. The chirps of the birds filled his room,the sunlight directed on his eyes,causing them to squint. He quickly got up,and fixed his bed.

He felt uneasy for some reason,but maybe it's just because he slept at 3 am. He rubbed his eyes and closed the door of his house,going out for his morning walk as always.

His mind drifted off to Shinobu, is she home? is she okay?

He shrugged it off,not wanting to overthink once again. Of course she's okay, she's strong.
