A/N: I don't get headaches often, but when I do, they're powerful enough to put a quaking halt to my plans for the rest of the day.
Q: Why do we get headaches?
●✦━━━━━━━━━━✧✦✧━━━━━━━━━━✦●
I walk briskly
out into the open air
and sit in the car
Then it hits me
like a brick to the head
What is this?
Is this pain?
Or am I just
so very
extremely
cold?
At first,
I don't pay much mind to it
But then
the sensation intensifies
By now
both hemispheres of my brain
are throbbing with sharp stabs of pain
The intensity magnifies
when I try to suppress it
All I know is that
my brain was frigid
and is now on high alert
My stress levels may have shot through the roof
of this car 😉
My brain does not feel like
it is receiving enough oxygen
from my heart
I want nothing more
than to clutch my head
tightly like a bandage
and to
rock myself to sleep
Take me away from
this enduring pain

A/N: A poem about splitting headaches
while I am currently experiencing one.
Since poetry is about expressing feelings
and describing concepts rather than
creating entire stories, I thought why not
write about this h*ll of a headache
that's probably going to keep me up all night
