Amaia went into labor on her 39 weeks and in not wanting to reach her 40th week she was eating her food with either hot sauce or chile. With Buck still in rehab for his leg after getting a second surgery Amaia only went on short walks with him and then walked extra-long walks with either Maddie or Vanessa who insisted she wasn't busy. Amaia's midwife packed her various self-made teas that were supposed to help with immunity and strength.
Her contractions started out simple and at first, she thought it was just the baby kicking but in finishing watching Agents of Shields Buck kept track of her every single time Amaia took a sharp deep breath. The first thing Amaia learned from her midwife was that not every pregnant women's water breaks but TV having such an influence on that she never really took the fact into consideration. So, when Buck told her she was in labor she laughed wanting to dismiss it but part of her knew he was right.
"Okay, hospital..." Amia trails off looking around Bucks place suddenly feeling stressed not wanting to forget anything
"You're gonna have to drive," Buck pulls Amaia out of her stressed mind
"Right. Take the keys and I'll meet you in the car I just need to grab a bag to put my clothes in it," Amaia stands up walking over to the end of the couch to hand Buck his crutches, he was getting off that week meaning the three weeks of waiting to climb the stairs to sleep in his bed would come soon
"Are you going to call Mara and Luca?" Buck asks standing up as Amaia slowly makes her way to the stairs
"No, not until we are certain I'm actually in labor"
Things moved quickly once she arrived at the hospital and went to the correct wing – they had accidentally gone to the wrong wing meaning they had to walk all the way to the other end of the building. Once she was checked in and told she was in labor did Amaia call the soon-to-be parents.
Buck sat on the hospital bed he'd moved next to the bed Amaia sat in both of them watching the show.
"They were so close!" Buck exclaims while Amia internally squeals in distraught as they watch the sixth season of the show that was still slowly coming out each week
"If we don't get Fitzsimmons in the same screen next episode I will-" Amia doesn't get to finish her empty threat as the door opens
"Amia Bishop?" A doctor in a white coat walked in followed by a nurse who had helped them into the room
"Yes, that's me," Amaia nods her head while Buck mutes the laptop and closes the screen
"Just to confirm you are saying no to an epidural?" The doctor says with the pregnant women's chart in hand
"Correct"
"It says here you have a midwife; will she be in the room?"
"No," Amaia replies as while she did have a midwife, she only wanted help with the before and after not the presence of giving birth "Just the parents in the room"
