I'll accept the apology but I won't forgive you, and I wish you pain." He turns around, facing you. "I wish you feel pain for what you have done, and that you'll see it coming and can't do anything to stop it."
I begin to shake, feeling tears streak down my face, as I watch the consequences of my actions unfold before me. As I watch the one who I thought I would spend the rest of my life turn and walk away because of my actions, not theirs. They had tried to stay with me to the end, but I couldn't, no didn't try for their sake.
I open my mouth to call him back, but couldn't, so instead, I call, "I'm sorry I didn't try hard enough."
He stops, not turning around, "Goodbye my love."
I fell to my knees hearing the heartache in those words.
"Goodbye darling." I whisper to the wind, not knowing if he heard me or not, but realizing it wouldn't matter in the end because he wasn't coming back this time. He was truly gone.
