Few days later

A V E R L Y

I walk into the library to complete all the pending work.

I can't do it at home because it's distracting and people won't be here because everyone's at the cafeteria.

Taking a couch in the far end I start off.

One course after another, I finish it all and then research for the project.

My phone rings and I see that I've been in the library for five hours. It's 7pm now.

School ended three hours ago.

I wince seeing the caller ID.

It's mom.

Pick up my phone and answer it.

"Yes mom," I speak with a bounce in my tone.

Pretend you're happy.

"You aren't home yet Averly," She sighs in disappointment. I bite my tongue.

"I'll be there soon, I'm just finishing off the project," I tell her.

"Okay," She says and cuts the call.

I sigh in frustration.

Mom is disappointed. I always do this.

I have so much to finish.

Bookmarking the websites I'll use later, I pack up my things and leave to go home.

As I'm walking away, my eyes lock with the same green ones from that day in class.

He was sitting on the couch a little away from me.

Was he there the whole time?
How come I didn't notice him?

Wait, did he hear everything?

He looks at me and then away. I continue walking towards the exit.

Once I'm out on the street, I slow down to take in the sunset as I make my way home only to be stopped after ten steps by a hand on my shoulder.

It's him.

I turn around and look at him.

I raise my brow in question.

"Help me with my assignment?" He says and I just stand there, dumbfounded.

What do you guys think about green eyes boy?

Do you think that's all he wants?
