we hate scorpions,
for its poisonous stings.
no one pets a scorpion,
like how they pet a pooch.
but i see love
and protection
in how a scorpion uses its sting.
it never tingles,
if it feels benign
from the environment.
the scorpion moves peacefully.
if no one pushes its bear
claws are closed.
if no one plays with them.
scorpions show unconditional self-love,
i leave a bite mark and use my claws
when my boundary is in a huff.
