i look for a vacant lot
covered with greens
and bones in between
dead leaves
and empty branches
delved into this dry earth
i see rotten eggs
and unfulfilled seeds
as i get deeper
i saw fossils covered in white
they moved minimally
to let me know they're still alive
i went home with them
and displayed them on my window.
