Chief Chibuzor mmadueke seems uncomfortable in his usual tailored attire as sweat dripped down the receding paste of his peppered hairline , seated in his living room was the Inspector who had been following the case of his missing daughter Grace.

" Are you sure you don't want the maid to get you something Inspector " he asked with a quaked voice collecting the glass of water from his house help

"I am fine Chief , I am just here to give you an update about your missing daughter" Inspector Chima a short man in his late thirties with a funny shaped mustache replied instead.

"Okay , you can go ahead" Chief instructed

"I got your message chief , I had to drive here as fast as I could, greetings inspector" Chukwudi hurried to sit down , he was also anxious to know the whereabout of his sister.

"According to our findings Grace your daughter had not been to any of the clubs or hotel where she usually frequents and there was no flight booked under her name, recently we where contacted about a dead body found close to a forest somewhere around Benin and it match the description of your daughter , we can't say for certain but the body suffered gunshot in the brains ..

" wait ..wait what the fuck are you talking about , How did my sister get to Edo state , what is she even doing there"

"We intend to find out ,for now our lead is to a hotel at Benin where she had lodged with a young man , the hotel attendant inform us that they never came back and never checked out after going out that night"

"What young man" Chuks asked his mind immediately picturing pascal .

"We are yet to find out, also my reason for coming here is to ask you a few questions concerning Grace "

"I am hardly around ,so I don't think I can answer your question, however you can ask her Brother ,they live together" Chief Madueke replied

Chuks hissed annoyed at his father but kept mute waiting for the inspector to speak

"How much do you know about Grace "

"How do you mean"Chuks asked confused , yes Grace unexpected arrival back to Nigeria had raised several suspicions , which she never told him about as they where always at loggerheads

" Do you know she was taking booze and drugs"

"I knew Grace drinks ,infact that's what makes us quarrel most of the times but Drugs am not aware of it" Chuks explained

"Do you know anyone she was close to before she disappeared"

"We are not that close for her to disclose such personal information's with me"

The inspector looked at Chuks weirdly

what was wrong with this whole family, inspector Chima observed from the few minutes chitchats with father and son that they shared no personal relationship , it felt like a waste of time trying to get information that might help them find the Girl

"Okay ..." He looked from father to son "that would be all, we are waiting for the information from Benin before we know the next step to take"The inspector stood up adjusting his crumpled shirt

"Thank you inspector, please do find her "Chief chibuzor stated standing up offering a handshake to the man

Inspector Chima nodded and hastily left the room
